Yes, that is the freely chosen path of the unrepentant sinner.
I like to think of it this way. The only way a person will go to hell is if they want to.
God in His (or Her) unlimited love has given us free will to choose. Our most important choice is to freely decide to accept or reject God's constant offer of spending eternity with Him in heaven. God will respect the choice to reject Him.
With love in Christ.

i dont know if you realize this but the Catholic religion is just like all religions if you break a "belief" of that religion the punishment is going to be the same whether you are a part of that religion or not otherwise no one would ever join that religion but the answer to your question based on Catholic doctrine is anyone will go to hell if they have an unconfessed mortal sin whether catholic or otherwise
i think that if you die in some freak accident and dont have time to confess doctrine states otherwise though

Yes. If a Catholic dies with an unconfessed Mortal Sin (and they haven't done a perfect Act of Contrition) they will go to Hell.

My father, a Catholic, died in a scuba diving accident. Obviously he didn't have time to confess his sins to a priest, and I don't even know if he had the time or presence of mind to think to confess while he was dying. He was a good, loving, intelligent and emotional man with a bad temper and a vicious addiction to alcohol, and the only "mortal" sin he was guilty of was self-hatred. If I believed that people "pay" for their sins in Hell (as I was raised to believe), then I also had to believe that my beloved father (who could be a raging asshole) was burning in Hell. That's when I began to understand that Hell is a narrow-minded human notion that bound me, not God.

An unrepented mortal sin indicates that the sinner does not want to be in God's Presence. If he or she dies in this state, God sorrowfully obliges. So yes.

I'm a catholic and dont believe in confesion. There is not man on this Earth that has the devine power to forgive me of my sins. I have private talks with The Big Man upstairs. So, I would say no you wil not burn in hell. If you have truely prayed for forgiveness and are truely sorry for the mortal sin you commited.

I doubt your sin still went unconfessed. You still think about it right? God is always there whether you think so or not. Have you and God mended ways, have you yourself asked for forgivess. Its not up to a priest or anyone else until you yourself have confronted the issue with your individual relationship with God. If you choose to ignore the sin and ignore God then Im sure God will ignore you after you die.

If an RC only knows RC dogma then that person is not saved by God's grace. Therefor that one is lost. no confession to any priest is valid in God's eyes.
RCs are not of The Church of which Christ is The Head. They can not say that they are saved. No priest can tell them they are saved. That is RC law and the priest can be kicked out for teaching that one can know they are saved. No pope has ever been abel to say thay were saved. For this reason alone, which is teaching against the very words of Christ, The RCs are not of The Christian Faith.

He or she actually would be separated from God for all eternity unless he made a perfect act of contrition.
If that person wore the brown scapular or was loving the Mother of God during life: I'm sure the Most Holy Virgin would by her prayers obtain the grace of a perfect contrition for the sinner. Devotion to the Virgin is a sure sign of salvation.

The Church teaches that unconfessed, unrepentant mortal sin is eternally "Mortal". It kills the soul.
In 1 John were the verse is about "sin that kills and sin that does not kill" he tells us the sin that is deadly is not the sin he is telling us to pray about.....like the more serious mortal sin is beyond us helping to bring back.
Its not my place to say who goes to hell or heaven, God only, but my guess is they would
