My family has been raising Black Angus for about 40+ years and I was wondering if there was a bigger beef producer.

We cross our Black Angus cows with a Limousine bull and have really good luck at sale time. Some of them went directly to the feedlot. If you're careful about who you buy the bull from you will get low birth rates but big gain. As far as their reputation for being waspy, the guy we bought our bulls from said he was breeding for a good disposition and he did. You can feed them out of your hand and their calves aren't nutty when you go to work them. Convincing your family to change their breeding program may be a real feat, though. Good luck!
