O.K. I finally found some other people in my area who are interested in occult stuff. I asked them to help me find a good book with spells and bindings because there are a few people who have gone out of their way to be destructive towards me and my family. I want to get them. But, my friends said I shouldn't try to do anything this year, " it's an 8 year" they said. What does this mean? And, do you agree, should I wait 'til next year to do a hex or binding?

I know, that's why I will probably just do a binding. But, these people deserve it big time.

O.K. so I should just maybe ask for protection, and let them reap their own Karma? O.K. I'm having a hard time letting it go though.

NO BINDING. NO Hexing! You have a LOT of studying to do in the Path before you start carelessly throwing spells around. FIND a coven or an open circle. (You can find local networking and open circles at http://www.witchvox.com, listed by state and by city.) Submit to your year and a day of training. Devote yourself to the Craft through a proper initiation. Then, ONLY THEN, should you dare to speak a spell.

Until then, you can protect yourself. A charm of Juniper berries strung and hung above the front door to your home. A while candle lit in the windows. A sky blue candle lit on your altar while you ask the Mother to guard and guide you. A calling on the Angels during your meditations to ever be with you and to make their presence known to those who wish you harm.

8 is the number of eternity, the neverending loop. You manifest malice toward someone now and it will ever keep coming back on you in the eternal loop. The Threefold Law will not apply.

I would personally not recomend a hex at all. There are many binding spells that will reflect the persons own actions back at them and it is normally more than sufficient to stop them.

All aspects should be taken into account before casting anything but remember it is what you put into the spell that matters the most your visualization is the key. If action needs to be taken now then do so.

I think you may be missing the point: Concentrate on doing positive and constructive things. Move away from the TV stuff if you want to get serious about this. In fact, there is even a convergence possibility between Wiccanism and Christianity. It is a synchretic solution.

I'm a Wiccan, and I say let go of the hexes and wanting to get back at them. Protect yourself and your family, and ask whatever protective angels and guides you have to do the same. I find that imagining myself surrounded by outward-facing mirrors does wonders for deflecting negative energy aimed at me. Or imagine a brick wall all around your house that only unconditional love can get through.

Well, first off, all those spells you will find in those books aren't found in any ancient writings anywhere... 95% of the magic you will encounter deals more with the Power of Suggestion than anything else.

As for "getting them"... that would only make you as bad as them. Consequences will happen without your help... but if you add to it, you are bound to get some back in return.

I'm not familiar with the 8 year concept.

But, as far as hexes and bindings go I'd personally avoid them. The folks who are sending you negative energy will get their own karmic backlash. Which generally is not fun. Fighting fire with fire is always a down hill spiral.

Personally, I'd work on surrounding myself, friends and loved ones with positive energy. Heck, I'd even send positive energy to those trying to hurt me. The karmic returns are a benefit and it makes me a happier and healthier person.

YMMV

Blessed Be,

Most wiccans would tell you it is a bad idea to take revenge on someone, that a hex can work against you and maybe bring you harm. Try a protection ritual for you and your family's house. Protect and cherish what you love, and have peace!

I am Christian, and I agree with what most of the people here have told you. I do not completely agree with my Christian brother who posted here, however.

In Christianity, 8 is a Godly number. My advice would be to ask for protection from God, the supreme being and power in the universe. No force can stand against Him for long. I have been facing many attacks lately myself, and feel they will probably increase as the end gets nearer. I'll tell you what... you pray or whateve you do for me, and I'll pray for you. We can ask protection of each other as well as ourselves. How does that grab ya? Also please pray for my girlfriend Swissy, who is about to have neck surgery and found out last week that she has gall bladder cancer. Please pray, chant, or whatever you do, for a complete healing as I received.

If you really believe in this stuff, but don't know much about it, why wouldn't you be scared to get involved? I would avoid it like a wasp nest if I believed it. Not really, I would want to be the most powerful wizard ever. That might make me feel kind of lonely, though. I would want to be the apprentice of the most powerful wizard ever. Unless it was dangerous. I just want magic sex.
