I am a teenager and when kids turn into more adultic ways they realise that their parents are not so perfect and start realising the mistakes and because they look out for them they become more apparent. They comment on this in evil ways because they find it fascinating and confusing, ie was my mum always like this or has something gone wrong. It may even be a security thing, imagine finding out the two people are perfect and all knowing are just as thick (no offence, lol) as any other guy on the street.

I agree with socalgal. you were in that position once when your parents didn't let you do certain things to protect you. You thought it was a lie and that they did it to ruin your life, but now you are doing it to your kids. I realized it and it is crazy to see how wise parents can be. You think that they don't know but remember, they were once like us as teens.

it's not so much as though you're completely stupid. it's...a matter of time. like ya'll don't know what it's like being raised in THESE days. and how different it is. and your opinion is that everyone is stupid and bad influences. i love my friends and they make me happy but i can never please my mom into friends she likes so i don't care what she thinks anymore. too much nagging. i had this talk with my dad today...i want to move out at 18 for college to socal where i moved from and he thinks i can't do it and it's a wrong decision. parents and kids are two different people just like any other two people. and they have different interests and fancies...so it's frustrating when they thing EVERYTHING we do is so stupid. and arguing with kids won't get you anywhere. either ignore it or talk suttely. =]]]

Because they think they know everything and that we are out of it and totally clueless. I felt the same way when I was a teen. It is just how things are.

don't worry about it im a teen and i really appreciate my parents but i know most of my friends dont because they just don't realize that their parents do what they do out of love. most teens are just too influenced by their peers and our media. keep on loving your child and protecting them. they'll appreciate it eventually.

Because we're caught up in a world of what we want vs. what's best for us.. and our parents only want what's best. Keep strong - your kids will love you for it in the end =) They might have to move out first, though. I miss my mom...
