Here in the U.S. , economy cars are in high demand & low supply so if you find one that you like, don't stall too long in buying it, Focus is a great vehicle & very well made. People tend to hold on to them, especially now, with fuel prices climbing.
2003 or newer come with a 100,000 mile power train warranty, that goes with the car, so you don't have to pay to have it transfered to you as the new owner.

Ford had some Recalls during those years but they should have all been fixed by now. The Focus has proven itself to be a good Solid choice in cars. I am thinking of buying a Wagon myself as a replacement for my 98 Escort wagon when it starts to die eventually.
Do some looking around...I have been watching them on Ebay lately and I just saw an 01 wagon with only 37,000 miles on it! The price was only 7500 from a car dealer!
If you have a choice, get an 02 or 03. It is generally not a good idea to buy a car in its first model year...they usually make a few improvements after the first year.

Is it the American or European Focus? I have driven the European in 2001 and would not recommend it. I've also had great moments with the Focus made in Argentina by Ford, specially the models after 2003.

you're speaking a pair of 10 12 months previous motor vehicle with 94k miles on it that we are going to no longer look into. How ought to all people at here particularly answer this question? The Ford concentration is many times a superb good motor vehicle and if it relatively is been regarded after suited i does not bat an eyelid at 94k miles, it would do a similar returned. Or it would bypass bang whilst it reaches ninety 4,001 miles, who can say?

I had a 2002 zx3 hatchback and it was one of the most reliable cars I owned until I sold it. I myself had put about 80k miles on in in about 2 years with absolutely zero problems. Then the car was stolen and messed up and never drove the same again so I'm assuming whoever stole it drove it like they stole it. So I sold the car to let it be someone elses problem. But no, to answer your question, no problems with it until it was stolen.
Oh wait, the sunroof cover came off it's track once and I had to fix that lol big whoop took me like 10 minutes
Hope this helps

I own a 2001 ford focus and love it, my wife can not drive it yet (no license) but she would love to drive it when she does. I have never had a problem yet and we bought it used, very nice and very comfortable five speed manual, four door, street edition. With tinted windows. I paid to have the windows tinted.

major problems with them has been ignition switches jamming up on them, the EGR tube breaking, and fuel pump concerns with the original in the tank (fixed for 2003) but other than that pretty solid and fun... I've seen them at 150k after beign abused (american version) and be like a timex.. take a beating and keeps on ticking.
