She will probably stop doing it once she makes some new friends ... but while that happens just be honest she is old enough to understand tell her you like talking to her but that you have things to do and you can't be on the phone for so long and that your parents don't like it when she calls so late at night ...tell her to pick a day in which she'd like to talk with you and that you will set time aside for it

don't you have caller ID?

Change your phone number and don't give it to her. Don't let it be listed in any directory either or she will find it. After dialing the old number several times and getting the recorded message "The number you are calling has been disconnected or is no longer in service..." she will stop calling. It will be worth the cost to give you and your family the sleep and peace you need and have a right to have.

If you enjoy this cousin, just not her phone calls, give her a certain time each week (1/2 hr. or so) when she can call you. Tell her you appreciate her calls, but you don't have the time to talk to her every day. If you don't want to talk to her at all, tell her you are busy each time she calls (white lie way) or just tell her to stop calling you (hurt feelings way, but probably effective).

if you have caller ID you could always screen your calls.
You say she moved a couple of states away. You could tell her that she is only allowed to call during certain times each day.

find out if she has made any new friends yet. if she has you could suggest that she call them.

talk to her about it...in a childish way since shes 11.
maybe that will get her to understand...send her a card...a letter...tell her that will be more fun....writing letters...you know since she moved she might have hard times being there and all.
so let her know you're there for her...but mention the whole calling situation...and tell her letters seem like more fun. =]

Try call block... she would get the idea without you actually having to tell her off.
