The answer is either one or six billion. Almost everyone who believes in God these days believes there is only one God. Nobody believes there is some kind of United Nations of Gods, with one God having jurisdiction over Muslims, and another one for Catholics, etc., etc. So everybody thinks that everyone else must be praying to the same God, even though each religion has different ideas about how to do that, or about what God is like.

But even within particular religions, every individual seems to have a slightly different concept of God. If you believe that God is an invention of mankind, then every person is entitled to have his or her own private idea of God. So there are as many different concepts of God as there are people.

In Buddhist's perceptions, in a group of solar systems, there are about 26 Heavens. Imagine how many group of solar systems in universe. Each heaven have so many creatures called devas( gods). Why ? because all human or other creature if their sum of good karma(action of life before) support, they could become one of the heaven's creature. But heaven's i not eternal the gods or devas will die there one day after a very long time, maybe zillons of years of human(for human they may think it's eternal there).

The died devas/gods birth in another realm of heaven, human, animal or even hell if their bad karma effect. Low class devas in low class heavens are only Gods with small ability(people can call them angels), the higher class of heaven the more powerfull they are. The powerfull devas usually have a leader. The leader is identifed by human as Gods leader . You can see the pattern in many mithology of greek, egypt, chinese, pangan etc. Some perception see the Leader of gods is the God, and the other Gods ounder the leader commands called angels. But once more Gods is not eternal, the will die one day(after a very-very long time, till you think they are eternal) and continues their cycle of life at the other realm as other creatures. So how many Gods there? it's unpredicted everyday a new devas (gods) is born and every day one of them could be die there and reincarnate

It depends on who you ask. MY personal belief is that there Is God and Goddess. If we were created in the Gods image than it makes sense for there to be a duality in our creator. Could be 2 seperate entities or one. I figure when he /she wants us to know then we will.

As far as the pantheons of Gods out there they are all just different aspects of God, most people need to be able to visualize a being they relate to in order to feel connected to their divine one.It really doesnt matter what name you put God is still God

Too many. Anything which we put a higher value on that the one and only true God is worshipping a false god. The list of flase gods includes money, power, social status, and other material things.

Ok... most of the people who answered this are just as corrupt by their organized religion as I was... The answer to your question is hundreds maybe even thousands! Everyone has the right to believe what they want and if they make up a god then it counts.

It is said that different people can see the same thing differently depending on what experiences they have had when they see the thing. Therefore I believe that there is only one god but there are many different people seeing the same thing differently.
