If you do not live in the US what do you really know about us? What you see on TV,read in newspapers, watching our movies,or perhaps listening to our music, does not really reflect us as a people.Do you really know the freedoms we enjoy here that people in other countries can only dream of having?
You say we have no history and no culture but yet people all over the world try to emulate all that is American. Can you explain that with your snide remarks?I never call people from any country names or make insidious statements about them..I am most surprised at the English,we have copied so much from your country as you onced ruled here long ago.I do not hate England,I do not hate its people. Most of all I think of England as Americas friend and allies.I wonder why you voice so much hatred for the US and its people?

it is kind of funny the responses you have gotten for your question. one person says it is not the people it is the government, but the government represents the people, some say our freedoms are being taken and one person accused us of murder (even though he seems to forget that we are at war, and that is what happens in war). perhaps many other countries and their people forget that they receive lots and lots of money from our government. perhaps America should be more frugal in their charity to other countries and reserve it for the allies only

You are right I do not know you. I do not hate Americans. I do not hate other cultures or other countries. I do not discriminate because of colour or religious beliefs. It is the arrogance and the I am better than you attitude that irks me. Sure you put out awesome entertainment, so what? I am not sure how to say this without offending anyone, but as a whole Americans are not well like worldwide. I do not think it is jealousy, it is mainly the way that the U.S insinuate itself in matters that do not concern them. You feel threatened if someone so much as mention the word terrorist, believe me when I say I am sorry for all the lives lost in the attacks of 2001. Nobody ever said that being a superpower was going to be easy. No nation on earth is immune to envy and hatred. Would it be so hard to resolve conflicts by communicating with each other? Forgive me, I digress.
If you believe in yourself, what does it matter what the world think?

I am an American and like somebody said before, you are not speaking on my behalf. And I really don't believe that other people and nations try to emulate our culture. They have their own. And while I understand that there are many countries that do not have the freedom and luxuries that Americans do, we are NOT the only country. Nor are we the best. I think many others hate the US because of people who have this kind of arrogance. (Not saying that you are arrogant, however the people who say the US is the superior nation of the world.. are)
to below. we should not be the police of the world, thats the problem.

Maybe all these American haters should spend a little time in the cemeteries of france ,England and other countries and think of the blood that was given by our GIs during the two world wars.Germany was at England's' door step.We had the lend lest act that made it possible for all the Western Allies to have everything they needed to win. What have we asked in return,Foreign aid ..lol?Germany and Japan would have taken the ME and the Holocaust would have been carried on in those nations. Our loyalty has always been given to the Brits. But now we have a new generation who hate us for our ingenuity and wealth. We share, science, engineering and medical with everyone and ask nothing in return.

Wake up dude, the "freedoms" that you talk about are quickly going away. W and his cronies are turning this country into a fascist state.
I love my country, but I hate what it has become under the fascist rule of W and the Neocons.
Furthermore, Bush has wrecked the good name and image that the United States used to have in the world. By spearheading a foreign policy based upon hubris and arrogance, we have alienated just about every other country on the face of the earth.

It's not the questioning of the American government it's the constant comparison to Nazis that make them seem anti-American. Really? The Nazis? Hitler didn't give the land back with a democratic government. Whether or not you believe in the war in Iraq, the fact is it would have been over already if the US behaved like the Nazis. They'd be in line or dead.

I am an American living in Argentina, and let me tell you. In foreign countries, in general they really don't blame the people for the horrible things the U.S. government does. They understand that we don't have much of a voice in our own democracy, and that we are being manipulated, and they feel sorry for us sometimes, and they are definitely favorable to our people and our culture. They just don't like the fact that we start wars, and they don't even blame us for it. Here in Argentina, they're not even against the people on the right who, for example, want abortion to be illegal, abortion is illegal here. But they don't like the war, and they don't think we protest enough against it.

I don't hate America per say, I know that everything in the media is just a stereotype... but I think your ignorant attitude is not doing anything to help your case? FYI: People who hate the USA AREN'T jealous of you.. how egotistical can you be?? I am proud of my nationality and wouldn't be an American if you paid me. People all over the world trying to emulate all that is American?? That is such crap... you say we know nothing about America, but it is obvious from your rant that you know even less about the rest of the world. Heads up to America, you are NOT the only country with freedom, you are the only country that can't shut up about it. Give me a break.
The reason people have bad feelings towards the US is because of the attitude you have just so kindly demonstrated - pride is one thing, arrogance is another.. you are only one of many, many, countries, but you seem to think you are the only one in the world. Your leader is a bumbling idiot (the result of the democracy you are so proud of), US foreign relations is a joke, and you force your culture upon people who want none of it, and then tell them how lucky they are.

No culture, No history ? far from true...but you just need to study a little and not accept the already prepared info from the medias.
If America was the same than the one depicted in movies and others mass media...ouch...it would be more dangerous to live there than anywhere on Earth.
A strange thing : if I believe what I have seen on tv, how did I go to US and came back in one piece ?
I do no hate America...In fact, I love America, I bless America everyday. I will always defend America in a talk with friends.
Just because Freedom & America worth it.
God bless America and its citizens.
If you don't like America...seek why : you will understand that in fact, it is because you hate yourself, your way of life and your country.

zclifton2, we may have made those bombs, but we didn't launch them. That's like blaming glock for a drive by shooting. It's not our fault what happened in Lebanon and as MANY people see it, they brought it on themselves for harboring Hezbollah, a known terrorist organization. Please do research before you advertise your stupidity.
I think people mostly hate America because of our big brother mentality. They don't like our cowboy attitude of being the police of the world.
