Think of evil as a temporary detour in the intended use of the Earth, since in the end, we wind up back in the Garden of Eden anyway.
God obviously knew that this would happen, but he allowed the "detour" anyway, because he obviously thought that free will was worth all of the problems that it would cause.

It was Satan, as the serpent, who tempted Eve. Eve, and subsequently Adam, were recipients of the gift of free will so they could choose to listen to God's commandment not to eat fruit from that tree.
Could God know what was going to happen? Yes, but what unfolds is an individual's chance to use their free will and decide to honor and obey God or go another way.
God is giving mankind every possible chance to do our own thing, so to speak, so that when the time comes we can say with certainty that God's way is better than ours. His original intent was for us to live in paradise in perfection. Man, going by his own will, is what changed that outcome. But when the time comes no man will be able to say "we can do it better than God" because there will have been ample time to show that we, mankind, cannot. If we could, than we wouldn't have wars, poverty, sin, disease, and death.
To get more insight into this situation, you could look at Satan's challenge to God at Job 1:6-13.

This is Gods plan . He had no plan a b or c like some people who have been brainwashed their whole lives to believe..they like to put God in a Box.. He allows evil but that does not make him evil, He is perfect we are not he planned from the beginning to walk this Earth and become all man all God as Jesus. Put himself on the Cross for our sin..amen

i think you miss out about the part..
that .. God gave us the freedom to choose..
Genesis 2:15-17
"The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die"
and sadly... Adam and Eve chose to disobey God..
He do not want us to be robots...

depending on your theology. God knew that man would fall He knew angels would fall. The purpose of this life is about knowing God He allowed and created "angels" and man "Adam" perfect with no needs in a perfect environment to show us that no matter how perfect a being is and no matter if all needs are meet there is no strength to keep from wanting what is not His and sin. Free will breeds sin if you are not God that is. God shows us here that if you are not like He is no matter how good you think you are or how perfect, you will fall short of Gods standards. These things bring us to the place of seeing our need of Gods perfection. We need Him to change us to be like Him because there is nothing in us that is strong enough to change ourselves. He wants us to know Him through these true events recorded in the Bible God give us account in these things to see Him and come to know ourselves

I've never heard that it was His intent for the earth to be in an Eden-like state forever, I think for a while, but not forever. How would we learn anything, how would we have been born? Nothing would have happened...I mean what would be the point of that?

satan tempted them not god! we were originally meant to live in paradise, but just because we were cast out of it doesn't mean that is what god wanted. him knowing what we will do is not predestination. this is a very deep subject about gods plan and stuff and you have to realize that all answers are not given to us on earth, we will have to wait to heaven to know certain things pertaining to god.

But God created Satan, knowing he would do exactly what he supposedly did. That makes God responsable.

I believe so. God knows all and sees all is what I have been told as well. If that is true then he knew what was going to happen. Therefore the tempation was already known and what would happen.
