And I don't think it is a Christian expression by the way.

Considering who said it to me and the context it was used in, I'm pretty sure it doesn't refer to anything Christian.

I've heard of them - I don't believe in them, but some do. You can find more information here: http://messengersofthelight.com/Childrenofthelight.html

Edited to add: here is the description from that website as to what "Children of the Light" are:

These certain individuals have incarnated into this three-dimensional world to be of service to humanity during this time of change. They are born and raised like regular human beings with no prior conscious knowledge of the work that they will hopefully awaken to in order to bring this predestined service for humanity. They are certain enlightened beings who have apparently not yet ascended, although, some may have.

You're right, it doesn't refer to anything Christian.

Yes, the Light being referred to is Divine Light but it isn't limited to Christianity. It sounds a lot like the "Star Children" or "Indigo Children", you can also look-up Lightworkers.

They're children that have retained knowledge of other incarnations and are being born to be healers, spiritual teachers, counselors, etc. to help transmute all the (I hate this term) "negative energy" that has been accumulating in this dimension.

1 Thessalonians 5:4-5 -
Christians are the light of the world, God is the Father of Light. There are a number of Titles for Jesus; Lord, Savior, Redeemer, King of kings etc. So also Christians can be called Saints, believers, children of God, children of light etc.

Ephes. 5:8 (NKJV)
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light
_______

Christians are the children of light. This means that we are Christ's witnesses. This means that we should be known for our good deeds, being honest and friendly. We should live in such a way that everyone that knows us respects us for our actions and kindness even if they don't respect and agree with our beliefs.

We should be the type of person that is very helpful and willing to go out of our way to help someone, yet not being ashamed to say that we are doing these good things in Christ's name.

It is in part of the Dead Sea Scrolls and speaks of a war between the Children of the Light (which are those who follow God's Laws) and the Children of the Darkness (sounds like another stupid movie, if you ask me)... Do a search on the Dead Sea Scrolls for this.

Light means Knowledge, and Knowledge means God. So the Children of Light would be the Children of God.

no longer something newsworthy, it rather is for beneficial. There are people who make a large distinction in different peoples lives and then there are others that don't. it rather is purely the way the international works. no longer every physique is under pressure in this form of way they make huge impacts of their lives.
