See, my dog (a standard poodle) loves playing the drums. But he plays terrible whenever he does. One day I told him to stop playing because I hated the way he plays! So now he's encouraging himself to mope around the house until I tell him he plays well... but I'm not. Is their another peaceful way to love this problem?

Two words: Piano Lessons.
I understand poodles (particularly the Standard variety) have a natural affinity for the piano. It could be that all your friend needs is a nudge toward the correct instrument.

Give your poodle a consulting job and stroke his ego a bit by telling him how well he plays.... for a dog. That he's the best dog drummer you've ever met. Then perhaps hook him up with a different instrument... perhaps he is better suited with bongos since he doesn't have thumbs to hang on to the drum sticks.... sound like this could be the cause of your problem... no opposing digits!

First, you must give him a drum set that he will "fit" in. Human drum sets are not for dogs, you know...
Then you have to make sure that the drumsticks fit properly in his paws... they may be slipping so he may be a little off beat-- like you..
Pretty soon, he'll be playing fine. You need to let him practice...
Practice makes perfect ya know?

No problem, teach him to play the tuba (standards love the tuba) he should actually pick it up quickly and soon your home will be filled with music! Be warned though, tuba playing poodles tend to favor playing pieces from the Pet Shop Boys.
