She's just letting you know she misses you... love on her a little bit, say 15 or 20 solid minutes of attention when you get home, THEN go do whatever... and each week, cut the playtime down about 2 minutes or so... until you are both comfortable with the amount of interaction... She's pretty much like your kid, and she needs a little reassurance, and adjustment time too...

She has missed you. Create a time during the day or night that you can play with her for a about 10 to 15 minutes. I play with my two before I leave the house in the morning. You said she isn't used to you being gone for that long? Try introducing her to a new cat to keep her company while you are gone. If you don't want to go through the kitten stages again visit your local humane society and adopt an older kitty that is about the same age as yours.

Maybe you should consider getting your kitty a companion. If she's accept another cat she'd have someone to play with and keep her company. Of course she's rather have you quit your job and stay home with her like she's used to, but since that's not an option, a playmate/companion might help.
A younger cat, maybe even a kitten, might work out best. You should get a kitty on a trial basis from a shelter or rescue group that will take it back if your kitty won't accept it. You may have to try more than one to get a good match.

This is normal. She misses you. And it sounds like she is an only cat. Cats though known to be lone creatures do like to have someone or thing (another cat) there to play with too. Not saying all cats or all the time. Lets face it the are finicky. I would try to buy some FEILAWAY it is to help calm them. But I would also suggest trying to make some special time just for the two of you. Or you can always get another cat. Good luck! >^..^<

I would suggest another cat to keep her company. I was gone all the time and I felt bad for my cat so I got her another cat to keep her company and now they are best friends. Having 2 cats is pretty much the same as having 1 you just might have to clean the litter box a little bit more but no big deal.

you have been away all evening and she misses you and wants to play with you. also night time is when cats like to be active being that they are nocturnal. so you might want to make some time to play with her maybe before going to work. take her into the bathroom with you when you take a shower. get a string toy that is short enough to fit in your pillow and spend 5 or 10 mins when you go to bed playing with her and then put the string toy away safely in your pillow so she can't get to it. also she is probably hungry so make when you get home a feeding time.

Your cat isn't to playfull, she is just very happy. True, it is unussual for a cat that age to want to play like that but your cat is perfectly fine. As far as leaving her alone for a while, she will be fine. Just give your cat some attention when you get home. Don't worry if she pouts and acts upset that you were gone, she will come around as soon as she wants to play again.

She is sleeping while you are gone and waiting for you to come home to play. Try getting her some toys or maybe another kitten to keep her company, she misses you!

I have 2 cats, and i have the same prob. when me and my husband get home from work, they come alive and crawl all over us and beg us to pet them...:-) and when we try to sleep they run around chase each other...I agree that your kitty probably sleeps all day and when you come home she finnaly has someone to play with-you. she has too much energy and drives you crazy.. try to play with her with something she has to chase and run around with..maybe it'll tire her out and she'll let you do things that u need to do. just give her some attention..it's all she wants :-)
