depends on how the stylist was overall, cost of service, service being performed, and how long it took.
A tip is a gift, behond the price of service. So, as a stylist I take tips as compliments not as expected pay.
some say 15% or 20%, but would I deserve a tip if I fried your hair off and turned it green (and you wanted blond)??
Tip as you feel is deserved, because there is not set amount!!!!

I always tip based on how well I like my new style. many things to consider like did the hair dresser do what I asked? or did they do what they wanted to do with my hair? rating it 1-10 1 being the worst haircut I've ever had and 10 being the best, between 1 and 5 they see no tip at all because I'm not pleased and I tell them simply "I came here to have my hair cut the way I wanted it, not the way you wanted to cut it." 5-10 I feel a little generous, I usually give $2 for a $10 haircut, but if I really like it, they get up to $5.

properly it truly relies upon on the pastime the hair cloth wardrobe does. in the adventure that they listen, do the pastime good, and provide you what you desire instead of what they prefer...then constructive tip. Its truly upto you yet at no time sense like you ought to tip. it truly is punctiliously optionally available. tell them what you desire...in the adventure that they dont look to take heed to or you sense uneasy..go away. bypass someplace else and do not pay for such undesirable provider (that's formerly they do it). Tipping is optionally available. you may inspite of the undeniable fact that it won't be able to be compelled. They get funds for operating and its no longer a hand out. Its in the adventure that they did their pastime and also you've been delighted. They cant anticipate it from each individual as its no longer their funds to provide. Now im no longer saying assistance are undesirable...yet in uncomplicated words tip when you're satisfied is what im saying! dont pay for something you dislike. and tell them if u dont like it as a fashion to target to fix it. Or get some different person there to fix it. the quantity now relies upon on the position ur going.

I have my hair cut, streaked and permed - and I always leave a $5.00 tip. I know that $2.00 is acceptable for a cut - but what the heck. My hairdresser is just the best.

It depends on the service being done, you wouldn't tip as much for a cut as you would a dye job or perm. It also depends on your satisfactory level, if your hair didn't come out as good as you'd expected then don't give her a really big tip, but if you absolutely love what she did then tip generously. If it came out totally wrong I wouldn't tip at all.

more than 20 percent, unless you dont like the cut, style, etc...if she did a good job, say for instance...a $20 haircut, would be a $5 tip...

'bout 15% (same as a resturant) if the cut is okay, 10 if it's on the bad side, and 30% if you absolutely love it
