first you have to clean it completely. any trace of it will make the odor linger. any kind of pet deodorizer should work. make sure these stain remover and deodorizer will not stain your upholstery and carpet. if you don't want to do it yourself, take it to a detailer.

First clean up the puke then if dried dampen the area then sprinkle baking soda on it. Let this dry then vacuum. If the smell is still there pour some coffee grounds on the area, It might not take the smell out but will mask the odor. Or you could spray some fabreez on it after it is cleaned up.

The best way to get to it is with a brush, water, detergent soap and and a cloth to wipe it dry afterwards. It will be a nasty job but it will get rid of the mess and the stench. Why don't you make your so called buddy clean it up? He's the one that did it.

Scrub the car out with water and an ammonia-based cleanser. Use a scrub brush. Then, spray the inside of the car down with Windex. I would suggest using Clorox, but it might bleach the interior of your car.
