OK. I finally got a date w/ the lady I have been pining over for months. We had a nice dinner and went back to my place to watch a movie afterwards. We were chatting on the couch and I wanted to kiss her so bad I couldn't stand it. She had made a few nonverbal cues throughout the night (i.e. open hands, playfull touches on my arms/shoulders during conversation, playing with her hair, etc.) Should I have made my move or is it better to wait until our next date (which is this weekend by the way) I really do like her. She is sweet, smart, funny and beauiful. When I'm with her my heart feels like its gonna beat out of my chest and I know that's a good thing. Your opinions please. I feel like a schoolboy again. LOL!

Hey! Maybe you should take things a step at a time. Playful flirting is always good, keeps her knowing that you are interested, I think you should just keep it like that for a little while, you do not want to go to the extremes, but do not leave her out in the cold. Hope I helped ya out again Brian!

You sound like a thoroughly decent person and I'm certain she picked up on that. You were right not to rush into anything. Too often nowadays people have sex first and -maybe- ask questions later, at which time they might find out things they don't like or can't stand about the other - then one is in a real bind. To me - and i am not young and I come from a different culture - to wait is to show a sign of respect for the lady, that you are interested in her and not just her anatomy.

I would go so far as to say that you shouldn't be intimate even on your second date, though you might want to snog a bit. In my humble opinion it is always better when there has been some anticipation; not to say tease one another, because that can lead to frustration.

If I were you I would continue the talking because you can get a better sense of what she is about; you can even lead the questions into the area of "how does one know when one should make a move" - you never know, her answer might surprise you. Good luck to you both.

The fact that you waited shows you are genuine and not a jerk like alot of men. You can't change the past, so no use asking that question. The real question is, what are you going to do on your next date. If she shows the same signs as the last date, go for it. Just be careful not to scare her off. Good luck.

You should have made a move because it sounds like she was open to or awaiting it. But since you have another date and chance it sounds like she definitely likes you. Just start with a kiss and don't get gropey though. Take it slow and see where it goes. If it doesn't feel right, slow down. She will appreciate you and respect you for that.

I always liked it when men asked if it was okay to kiss me first. That is unusual, polite and memorable. I remember my husband doing that. He just said "Is it all right if I kiss you?" before we kissed the first time. And then you haven't taken advantage whether it was the first or tenth date.

Well, looks like you are pretty popular with over 30 answers. I just wanted to say that it is good that you made her wait for it. She is probably dying for more. Women go crazy when they are forced to wait. It makes it that much more fun. Next time go for it. I bet you guys will have fun for awhile with the new newness. I wish you luck!

Yeah i think that you made the right decision not to make a move until 2nd date. Women are funny that way....You go 90 then she comes 10 % that is........Guarantied perfection. Good luck

It is nice that you are feeling so "twiterpated." I recommend that you definitely make a move this weekend! Yes, you should have at least asked her for a goodnight kiss (I LOVE it when a boy asks if he can kiss me, it makes the kiss so romantic knowing that it is coming…mmmm)

You definitely could have. If you get those same cues again on the next date, make a move, or she'll think you have no balls.
