If the car was given to you, not loaned, and you're legally an adult, and living on your own, then why would you risk losing the car??? You are paying all your own bills, I assume. Or are you ?? There's a lot to read between the lines here!! If you're living on your parents' $$$$$, then you aren't independent of them and you need to tell them. But if you are really an adult on your own and the car is yours, you aren't obligated to tell them you got a ticket. I assume you are paying the fine with money you earned, right?

well, to start off. You are of legal age so you don't have to tell them and I would say that you received the car as a gift from your Grandmother's etate so I can't see that they could take the car away from you.
I wouldn't do anything about it unless you're feeling guilty about it and feel that you should.
Anyone could get a speeding ticket so don't let that bother you OK?

Take care of the ticket, then tell your parents. That way they can see you took care of business. Everyone has gone over the speed limit,at least once in their life time. Also, should sister-in-law happens to let it slip out your safe.

They may find out if the sister in law knows about it, not that shed rat you out, but things slip. They must know that cars dont last forever, I think they just don't want you wrecking it or beating it up. Its alot nto put on a 19 yr old.... "Take care of Grandmas car, it's all she owned". Be honest and let them know if you feel they will find out eventually, but if not, its not any of their business.

You are 19? Why should you HAVE TO tell them? You got the ticket.Pay It....Move on....Why do they need to know you got a speeding ticket? If it will only make them angry..just Pay It..and Forget it....unless you need THEM to pay it..But you are 19..so I dont know why you cant pay it yourself! Good Luck!

Well do you have the insurance on your own? Do you plan on paying the ticket on your own? You are an adult now and do not need to tell your parents everything. I however would if asked in the future would act as if it were no big deal.

You don't have to tell them, but I'm sure if they pay your insurance if you don't tell them there going to be asking why their insurances premiums just got raised 100 dollars per month.

If you are on their insurance or they are paying your bills, you need to tell them. If you are living on your own, paying for your own stuff, and paying for your own insurance, it is none of their business.
