There's no greater joy to a mom, than her son wanting to spend quality time with her. She is aware as her son goes in to manhood that time will be less and less. So if you have opportunity to let her know how much you appreciate her do it...don't put if off! She will treasure that forever. Presents and cake are always nice...but her heart wonders if she has been a great mother to you...so don't be afraid to let her know how important she has been in your life! A special date set just for the two of you dinner at a nice restaurant and say just for something extra a walk into an art museum, just sharing...a stop at an ice cream bar on the way home. Hope that helps, good luck!

Around the time of her birthday listen carefully about hints about what she would like for a present.
I am lucky I live in Edinburgh and her birthday is during the Edinburgh Festival so my sister and I often take her for a meal and to see a comedian.

Buy her a nice card, don't make one, it's cheap and they pretend to like it but they really don't. Write her a letter explaining why she's such a good mum and why you appreciate her. Oh, and buy her an expensive gift.
