Are the ratings crazy? USSR fighters should be ranked above everyone. It seems like people still want a black-american champ adn cant get over the fact that USSR fighters are the best now.
MASKAEV, KLITCSHKO, VALUEV, and LYAKHOVICH have proven this.

Not including the Klitchko brothers, the main reason they don't get their "just due" is lack of exposure. I never even seen Valuev or Lyakhovich fight until they were in fighting for a belt. But I happen to know a guy who is very good friends with Maskaev, and he would always tell me how popular these guys are in Europe, star status for sure. Also, European Heavyweights as a rule of thumb were not flashy, too technical and plain boring. Wladimir dispelled that old stereotype.

Until the USSR ceased to exist, they didn't have pro fighters. The Klitschkos are Ukrainian. Maskaev is a Kazakhstan-American. Maskaev is a throwback to the days of big punching brawlers. Klitschko is a robot and Lewis, were he still in fighting shape, or Holmes would annihilate him. Valuev is a freak who's being exploited. But he can box a little. Lyakhovich is supposedly quite good. He's a Belarusky, a "white Russian" and has a a superb amateur background. He might be the best of the bunch in the long run.

These fighters were ignored because A ) we are/were anti-communist B) we suspected them of drug abuses and cheating C) they never won the gold against great American (or rarely, Cuban) fighters. Remember Foreman vs. that hapless USSR guy, covered in blood, how we felt for his plight against the monstrous American. It was fairly sickening to watch. And that guy was good.

Erislandy Lara. I firmly have self assurance he'd beat Canelo in the event that they have been to combat, yet he's only no longer very marketable, and does not relatively have a fan base by way of fact he's a Cuban refugee who won't be ready to communicate english. he's not blood and guts, and he does not stroll into punches or placed his heart on demonstrate via way of finding himself in slugfests. he's smarter than that, yet informal followers do no longer admire that type of component, and thats fantastic. regardless of. at situations he ought to look to be a sprint bit a one surpassed fighter, yet i think of he's savvy, and good sufficient to conquer the boys with all the media hype at 154 real now. i've got observed that folk go with to throw around the term "slick" in describing a fighter no remember if he relatively is or no longer, yet Erislandy Lara relatively is a slick southpaw with good fundamentals. he's an incredible fighter who's for my section extraordinarily underrated and infrequently stated in communicate whilst talking precise tier jr. middleweights. If he nevertheless dedicates himself to the sport on a similar time as residing in Miami the way he did in Cuba, he would be annoying for everyone to handle. i do no longer care what everyone says.

There are Russian boxers? I didn't know that.
Yes, they are underrated and people seems to like black champs better but they are the best right now since they've got all the belts.

Seems like the market area that can produce the most revenue at the time, gets to cater to the heros they choose, which are probably going to represent the majority in that market area.

BECAUSE AMERICAN FIGHTER THINK THAT THEY CAN WIN ON SPEED AND COMBINATIONS, AS WHEN RUSSIAN FIGHTER CAN WIN ON BRUT POWER AND STRENGTH. AMERICAN FIGHTERS DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT
