You are assuming that your life eternal would be the same as the one you have now in which case you are right it would be better to stop existing because I would think it could get rather boring. You must assume that if you were to live forever it would be under a complete and totally different understanding. Just think of how limited we are now knowing just our Planet and usually only a small fraction of that, but even if you were to know the entire planet it is but a spec of dust in our universe. That must be how our mind is now only know but a spec of dust of the understanding that is out there.

I don't think it is possible to stop existing. Anyways, you always have the option to find environments that resemble your favorite fantasy novels or movies. I am sure they are dense enough now. Anyways, I prefer the afterlife, as in I exit this existence to be one that my higher consciousness to decide. I would feel selfish to plot the course now. There are many others involved with my journey, because they go with me. You are made up of millions of life forms, and they depend on you to evolve them. They know their role, and act accordingly. You are one huge collective unconscious, even in the physical.
Anyways, I presume I will once again be a dweller on the threshold on deciding whether I want to return to the physical or advance into a being no longer able to return. I think I may choose the latter because this time I finally acknowledged all options available and added them into possible realities.
Experience will never be the same.
Peace

I would prefer the "afterlife" to be exactly what it is, an eternity in the glory of GOD. I put afterlife in quotes because you are now living in the afterlife. Your real life resumes after you leave here and go back home.

With much time in hand, that can be useful.
Consider doing this in case you are dead and and have the eternity to spare.

I agree with you.
An eternal life would be hell.
If I had to choose between an eternity of existence, or only ~80 years on earth, I would take the 80 years.

Our minds are not capable of understanding eternity and living in heaven for eternity. Heaven is paradise, so yes, I would live there eternally instead of just...whithering away.

here's the thing: i agree that an eternity just being is too long. but we have to remember that our minds aren't capable of grasping EVERYTHING--what right do we have to presume that we can comprehend the entire universe and beyond?
i'm christian, so i believe that heaven is way better than anything on earth, so good, that i won't mind spending forever there. at any rate, it's a better alternative to hell, which is, you know, painful.

You have no choice in the matter. Our souls are eternal. Whether you go to heaven or hell depends on what you do with Jesus Christ our Savior.

We cannot imagine, nor comprehend, how wonderful it will be in heaven.
1Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
Bring it on.
