I would like to know about how to start one-- what would i need to do, how much money would i need and so on

There are different kinds of political action committees and the work almost requires a political attorney now days. Still you can do the research online through the Federal Elections Commission or your state office. Remember the cause or effort of your committee determines if the PAC is a federal or state PAC and it matters.

As of 2004, and I haven't checked since then, a single donator could contribute up to $1000 to a PAC. A group can contribute up to $5000 to a PAC. I am not sure how you start one or how you register it, but you might find the Web site below helpful.
