Baptism and Circumcism. Both are entrenched in "cleansing directives and rituals" from both religious sects.

Baptism relates to the Christian belief of a new "birth" and washing away of sin. In the Christian belief, Baptism will render a person's soul clean. This relates to a more and complete relationship with God through their belief that Christ is the intermediary.

Circumcism relates to the Judaism staple of "cleanliness" The Torah relates cleanliness to godliness; being more holy and able to experience a more full and complete relationship with God.

A wiccaning could be considered a Pagan baptism of sorts. This ritual is for a group, and the community declares that they will support and welcome the new child.

Here is an example of a wiccaning ritual:

They are almost identical in concept and ritual structure!
