what is the point of people having a cell phone when they turn it off a lot? Why would they turn it off besides being at the movies, work?....

The dea of a cell phone, is so you can contact people when you want, It isn't so you can be at the peck and call f other people. It is to impower you, not to inslave you.
Leave a voice message and they will get back to you when they want.
We should all use technology, not be used by technology.

Because its my only phone, no house phone! After a while you get sick of it ringing... So, I turn it off and forget about everyone and everything! Besides being at the movies, work. Try vacation, dinner, sleeping, sex, and spending quality time with my girlfriend or daughter!

They may just have it for when they want to make a call, such as in an emergency or whatnot. My mother does this. She thinks it saves the battery and isn't real comfortable talking on one.

i dont know. my parents do this. they say they are afraid the battery will run out even though it lasts a few days. people just dont understand technology.
