I have a Canon PowerShot 530. Can I link-up with an auxillary flash as add-on. if yes, how?

To my knowledge you can't it's basically a point and shoot digital camera.

Yes, you need a slave flash. You can buy a Canon(big bucks) or there are several accessory manufactures that make them.
