it may be good for you! if the wiring is well shielded, you will be immune to the effects of all but the tiniest background radiation, unless your basement is that of a nuclear reactor. check for radon. be sure to get enough light - full spectrum bulbs can help. be diligent in keeping the place dry and mold free, and you'll be fine.

If the apartment is clean and light without insects or molds, I see no reason it should do harm. Notice my qualificatiions, though.

I will tell you from experience that it wasn't good for me.
Little Sunlight = Depression (for some)
