I just bought three pairs this month. You know why. Footjoy went on sale and they bite my foot like hell. I bought Echo yesterday, they are very comfortable, but kind of expensive. The best shoes I wore were Honma, very expensive, but made of genuine leather, (echo, too). Honma costs me 200 USD, but had last more than 3 long good years. Now, they're even more expensive. Remember, golf shoes are the shoes that you will walk in them more than any shoes you ever wear.

My Rules of golf shoes:
1. Golf shoes (no matter how expensive) last only 2-3 years.
2. Comfort counts, make sure you get leather and make sure you get the correct width for your foot.

Footjoy is great because they are ultra-comfortable, right out of the box. They also come in a range of prices and widths. You can get a great pair for 60-80 bucks. If you pay more than $100 it's a waste.

Forget the ecco, buy footjoy and use the extra $ for some golf lessons.

Comfort counts, waterproff counts, breathability counts - I have worn Nike, Foot Joy and Etonics with success. Etonics tend to be a little cheaper.
