The best place to find lessons is to look in your local education authority adult evening class guide, the Croydon Guide is called CETS - I don't know what borough you live in.
You should be able to find exactly the kind of lessons, at the right level and the right price, that you are looking for.
Otherwise, you could look in the advertisements in your local paper, for private tutors, that would be local to your area.
I hope this helps and start strumming soon:>)

I get guitar lessons from a teacher at my high school. If you aren't in school, check out local places with instruments... they most likely will offer lessons. Places like Guitar Plus. Look up music in the phone book.
Good luck and have fun playing the guitar! It's fun but it takes a lot of patience and time. Don't give up!

check out some websites: www.freeguitarvideos.com or www.visionmusic.com . There are several others too. You could also get one of those teach-yourself books, they might help. I'm taking piano lessons online and i'm also using some tutorial books and they work for me. Good luck.
