What makes you think 'Christianity' has anything to do with Jesus? Christianity since its inception has always been about subjugating others, witchhunts, holy wars, holy torture in Jesus's name, dispensations and canonizations for sale, dictatorship over the personal freedoms of everyone, scaring the weak-minded sh*tless with threats of hellfire and damnation, etc., etc.

'Christianity' has never been about Christ' and never will be. It has always been about the neoconservatives, even before there were neoconservatives.

The Conservative right wing party did NOT begin to worship the greatest liberal known to man. The people who worshipped God in spirit and in truth became the conservative right wing. We do not put God into a liberal or conservative box. He does not consider us to be liberal nor conservative. He looks at us as redeemed or damned. He is God. Isn't it rather amusing that the conservative right wingers as you call them are also the ones who attend religious services regularly, and strive to adapt their lives to the tenets of the Bible rather than attempting to adapt the Bible to the lives they wish to lead.

I don't believe that you can classify Jesus as a "liberal," or anything else for that matter because he defines Himself for all mankind. Man-made terms could never suffice. However, to your point I also believe that over the past 30 years or so the democrats have gradually changed the meaning of "liberal." Liberals and democrats have become the embodiment of athesistic humanism, a segment of the population that embraces murder as a freedom to choose, and it enslaves the poor in a welfare system that it says is more "humane" but it really just makes the poor even more dependent upon the charity of others and the state. One of the biggest lies in America today is that liberalism is more "human" because at its core it devalues the human being and especially women and the unborn.

because they bypass over the point about Jesus.Oh they understand the salvation difficulty, yet they don't realize the elements that Jesus confirmed in His existence and teachings. they have self assurance that it is as a lot because the human beings who help others instead of the authorities. i'm a daughter of a fundamentalist preacher and that i'm now a democrat because i have self assurance that the Democratic get at the same time is a lot in course of the teachings of Jesus Christ than the Republicans. exceptionally once you concentration on businesses which includes Dems for existence, which help the the sanctity of existence are area of the Democratic get at the same time. And our numbers are turning out to be. I save listening to how Jesus is love. and that i have self assurance it, yet that does recommend to assist human beings. regrettably, the churches do no longer have adequate of their benevolence funds and deacons funds to manage all social classes (merely social protection on my own might want to take too a lot funds). Jesus healed and took care of human beings out of his compassion. And the rationalization i have self assurance the conservatives do not realize this theory is they don't see the entire photo of why the adverse nevertheless desire help. There are way too lots of those who nevertheless desire help and till the churches can %. up one hundred% of the tab, we can opt to assist them by skill of governmental thoughts.

Jesus himself may have been a liberal, this I strongly agree with. But Christianity as religion has grown far from this. Thanks to so-called 'great' theologians as Augustine and Aquinas, Christianity has become just as dogmatic as Judaism and Islam. People tend to forget about Jesus as a person, a teacher, an acceptor, and view him more as a 'son of God' that is not to be questioned because if you do, YOU QUESTION GOD HIMSELF. The religious right has latched itself onto this dogmatic side of Jesus that theologians created and cover up the fact that he was a liberal. But I give the conservatives credit for pandering this idea to a crowd that does not know any better and furthermore, are easily persuaded.

Jesus was not as "liberal" as you think He was -- at least not in the modern-day sense of the word "liberal."

For instance, here are some "liberal" agenda items that Jesus would undoubtedly have been against:

-- Abortion, including partial-birth abortion

-- Euthanasia

-- Giving condoms to kids in schools without parents' consent

-- Gay marriage

-- Confiscation of people's money by the government in the form of higher taxes, presumably for the purpose of helping the poor -- when in fact, the government does a horrible job at helping the poor and that money would be better used by far more effective private charities

-- Cloning

-- The promotion of single parenthood and out-of-wedlock birth as a "lilfestyle choice"

-- Not sending in our military to liberate 29 million people from a brutal dictator

-- Allowing Michael Schiavo to starve his severely disabled wife to death, after years of neglecting her while he shacked up with a girlfriend and fathered two kids with her

-- Believing whatever Michael Moore has to say about anything

-- Removing any reference to God or religion from the public square

-- Espousing a "moral system" that basically says "anything is OK so long as no one gets hurt"

Actually, Conservative right wingers come from all different types of religious identities and Liberal LEFT wingers have a strong tendency to impose their personal religious and moral values on everybody else.

Sorry, but, Jesus never supported: confiscating private property, taxing producers to fund non-producers, being a pacifist and appeasing those who threaten us, abortion, homosexuality, a large government that controls everyone's life, and atheistic, evolutionary thought.

Oh, and, statistically speaking, conservative Christians are by far more generous with their personal wealth than liberals.
