If you are truly sorry for your sins, & know that you are a sinner, & really want SALVATION, SALVATION comes from God, Religion comes from man. Go to St. John 6:37 Read that verse, The last part says, Him or her that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. Now there is many verses I can use, But let's see what happen on the day of Pentecost. Now Pentecost IS NOT A DENOMINATION, even though you have churches that use that word Pentecost as a denomination, Pentecost is a experience with God, Turn to Acts 2:37-42, There was ask a question to Peter, Men & Brethern What shall we do? Peter being filled with the Holy Ghost said, REPENT, & Be baptized everyone of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, & ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. I know many uses Matthew 28:19 where it says in the (NAME) of the father, Son & Holy Ghost) Let me say this, what is the name of the father, Son, & Holy Ghost, didn't Jesus said I have came in my Father's name, Now listern, Father is not a name, nor is Son a name, nor is Holy Ghost a name, but Titles, No where in the entire bible can anyone find a person baptized in the father, son, & Holy Ghost, all was Baptized either by John, in which all that John Baptized, had to be re-baptized, except Jesus, & the only reason Jesus was baptize was for an example for us to follow, & all was re-baptized in the Name of The Lord Jesus Christ all throughout the new testament. Just be sincere with God, & ask him to forgive you of all your sins, & beleive that he has after you repent, & do what the scripture says. And follow God. I do believe this is a serious answer. It is not hard to give your life to the Lord. I did it in 97' when I had my bypass surgery. All you have to do is say the sinners prayer and truly believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins. Lot of people make it sound really difficult and its not.

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR WALK WITH THE LORD!!!

It's real simply
Simply pray something like this:
Dear Jesus
I believe Jesus is Your Son. I believe that I am a sinner and that He died for my sins and rose from the dead.
I'm sorry my sins have seperated me from You. Right now, I turn from my sins.
I receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord over my life and make me the person you want me to be.
Amen
Hope this helps. Also you can start by reading the Bible and read the book of John. If you don't have one, please do.
And find a good Christian church in your area so you can grow and be with other believers.

Surrender your life to Jesus.
Many people believe that to be saved is a free gift because Jesus died for our sins on the cross. Yes He was the only being that could satisfy the sin-debt of mankind because He was sinless; however, being saved it isn't free. Jesus said "we must take up our cross and follow Him." It means that we have to die to ourselves and our self will and take up the will of the Lord for our lives.
Read John 3:5-8 "Jesus answered..I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and Spirit. You must be born again."
We must have the Holy Spirit in us if we are to be changed. Otherwise, if just believing in Jesus (which the devil believes in him too) and saying we are sorry is the key to salvation, then Jesus' death wouldn't have been necessary. We could be holy on our own.
When we are born of the Spirit we have the same powers to overcome sin that Jesus had. The bible tell us to "be holy". Only through the death of our own will and through our resurrection into the Spirit of Jesus can we be made holy.
Begin by praying this prayer. Dear Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that you were sinless, was cruicified and rose again. I accept you as my Lord and Savior and repent of my ways. I surrender my life to you Lord and ask that you fill me with the Holy Spirit that I may have a new life in You. Thank you Jesus.
God bless

Whatever you do, do not go to a mega church where they will milk you out of your savings account...

Interview a Pastor, Priest - even a Rabbi, Monk if you want a more spiritual aspect in life, check out Wicca as well: see what fits your needs or what you want out of life -

Don't jump head 1st into a pool with no water....

But look at all the quotes & links and everybody in between has a different interpretation as to what those mean...

Remember: sitting in a church, temple, mosque doesn't make you anymore religious - just like standing in your garage doesn't make you a car...

I could never become a Born-Again... as it is the 1 sect of Christianity where your love for God is based solely on fear. They all say "God gives you uncondtional love" - this would mean without conditions, yet they say you have to be born again in order to get to Heaven, which would be a "condition" - they contradict themselves and are too brainwashed to think on their own - do not fall into the same trap....

Life is to be enjoyed - so enjoy it!

Classychris,

You're going to be given all kinds of answers on this one. From, "just pray this prayer", and "go to church", and "run off and get baptised", to "repent of this and that". If the Lord knew that we were capable of doing one thing. ONE thing on our own strength to please him when it comes to works, (or carrying out something...whether it be a prayer, or a ride to church every week, or good deeds, etc) he'd have kept a system of laws in order to this very day so we could just keep obeying it.

But he died on a cross as a sacrifice. A substitute for me, and for you for every single sin you've ever done, are currently doing, and will ever do. The blood in his veins is that worthy and acceptable. Believe that he's your substitute. Know this to be true, and you'll see that you can't "give your life" to the Lord, he already has it. He doesn't need you to give it to him.

Some others will be that they'll say, "Ask Jesus into your heart". But your heart (says the bible) is the core of where all deceit, evil thoughts, and filth lies. If God required you to so much as lift a finger, or pray a prayer, or go to a church to be accepted by him, he wouldn't have died for you. He's perfect. And now, if you'll believe it, he's YOUR perfect substitute. When God looks at you when you die, he'll see a hellbound and hell-deserving sinner trusting in the Son of God, and welcome you into heaven. It'll change your daily life too.

His perfection is what you're trusting in, to pronounce you perfect, and blameless, holy before God. Anything else. ANYTHING else....repenting, baptism, asking, good works, has nothing to do with Christ. (Don't get me wrong, it'll make your religious bones feel good...but Christ looks to see who's trusting in that sacrifice he made for you and for me)

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved!

The Scripture says, "Men and brethren, what must we do to be saved? Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:37-38 From there, you must "come out from among the world and be a separate people", meaning that you mustn't do the things you used to do when you lived in sin anymore.

And this is a serious answer. Be good to yourself. Be confident that is HE with you and you are with HIM. Let HIM be the center of your life. You do not need to go inside a convent or wear a habit. Be a good child. Stand up for what you think is UNIVERSALLY right because not all that you think is good will be good for the others. LOVE, UNDERSTANDING, LISTENING and MERCY are the key words to the present time. Thank Him for every blessings you receive from anyone each moment you are awake.
Be a good spouse if you are married and be a good parent if you have kids. Meditate upon Him all the time not neccessarily by sitting in one corner and contemplating but by consciously dedicating to Him your every move, your work, your smile to your love ones, your care and your mercy to anyone who needs. And above all, take care of your well being..your physical health and your spiritual health.

Am assuming you mean Jesus Christ as one and only Lord of all Creation. Buy a bible, read the book of John, then the book of Romans. Contact a local church pastor or someone you know that is a believer and talk to them. When it's there, you'll know what to do. God bless!

Read the Bible and pray. Repent for all of your sins. And really think about what you are fixing to do. Giving your life to God is the most precious gift that you can give to Him. He loves us all, but you have to stay committed. Visit your local churches, and find out which one you would like to make your church home.
Never mind any of the ignorant answers that you get. This is the best question by far that i have answered!
