It is really hard. I'm not technically dating this guy, but it has come up. He is from my town, but currently in another state on the marine base. I talk to him a lot, but it just isn't the same.
I don't know your situation. Do you guys have the opportunity to see each other at all? I think that seeing the person is really important in dating, but sometimes just talking to them can be enough for a while.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by what do you do? Do about what exactly?

talk to them online as much as possible. send text messages. i've found that if i wanted to make this long distance relationship work, then a lot more effort is required. calling is good but can get expensive- even with a cell phone. text messaging is best, i think.

too much effort. don't you want to be with that person all the time? I know I could not do it. I just moved across the world to be with my love. (from Sweden to US). i could not stand being away from him. :) We've been married almost nine years now..
but good luck with your relation ship...it might work. who knows.
