Depends on what perfect and divine mean. If perfection is something that has to be determined by a rational thing, it is very biased in that only select people can become perfect. On the other hand if perfection is being at one with your universe, animals are much more perfect than man since they are able to fully exist in their environment to their potential that was meant for them. Contrary to this, man and woman, has developed reason and will no longer be able to reach their full potential as this potential is always being explored in different ways.

As for seeking the divine the same idea applies. If the divine is harmony of nature than once again animals are much more perfect than people. But as the rational being tends to think, one needs reason to find divinity, than the debate continues with what religion one believes to be perfect. If you believe that your religion is perfect and live it with an iron code, that would be close to being perfect in experiencing the divine.
