I just got a pair of earrings and I've worn them six weeks as of tommarow. My mother believes you have to change them, then wait three weeks to change them again. True or false?

It really doesnt matter how long you wear something in a pierced part of your body, as long as you keep it clean. Wash them every day with Dial soap and water and you will be fine. If they start getting red, irritated, or have pus coming out of the hole, wash it with warm salty water 3 times a day., and then the soap and water morning and night.
Healing times are different too, depending on the person, your immune system and the place on your body that is pierced. (My belly button took 6 months to heal completely) Just take it easy, dont worry and pick out something pretty...just keep them clean...

If it's a new piercing after six weeks you can change them. Just don't leave the holes empty just yet. Always have some in there for a while.
