if you waited two weeks, does it necessitate an emergency? probably not. If you've waited two weeks, you can wait a day or two to go see your regular doctor.
Too many people waste ER time and resources with stuff that isn't an emergency. And after reading some responses below me, it's pretty clear some people don't understand what an ER is for.
Don't waste people's time and go to an ER for something that happened weeks ago--to put it bluntly, if you didn't drop dead from it by now, you'll be able to wait to see a doctor.
Go to your doctor's office.

depending upon how hard you had to push the umbrella down into the sand you may have pulled a tendon or a muscle and they probably will just send you home with pain meds but that would be better than being in pain right?

It sounds like maybe you strained your rib cage. It could be months before everything is healed and the pain goes away. You should go to the doctor just to make sure everything is healing ok but they probably will send you home with meds. Better to be safe than sorry.

If you can, consult your regular doctor first. You can ask for a same day appointment or wait for a cancellation this week. If it is really too painful to tolerate any longer and you can not see your regular doctor or do not have a regular doctor, then you can consider going to the ER, but be prepared to spend hours in there (bring a snack--I'm serious!)

I think it's too late for the ER, if it was an emergency you would have went that day. I'd say make an appointment with your doctor and have him check you out.

I would recommend a Chiropractor for this kind of injury; he/she will probably be more effective, and not use medication.

Goto the E.R. Better to be safe than sorry, could be pulled muscle, or could be diaphragm injury.
