Seriously, I've no beef with anyone who chooses not to believe in any sort of religion or God, but come on, somethings not right when you say you don't believe and waste God knows how much time doing nothing more than creating topics here to be smart a$$es, harrass those who don't agree with you and generally just try to stir up trouble.
You don't believe in God, fine, get over yourselves and leave it at that. Noone needs your smug topics being started with relentlessness. For people who don't believe or care about what religious people do, you sure do let thought of us occupy an awful lot of your time.

For those of you who obviously only read a portion of the original post or chose to only pay attention to part of it, this wasn't about forcing anything on anyone. I was simply referring to the hundreds of topics that pop up with no real question, just ranting about how closed minded and ignorant religious people are and generally being tools. Those actually asking questions and I mean questions that they honestly want answers to and aren't just being smart a$$es, I have no issue with at all.

You do believe in God, fine, get over yourselves and leave it at that. No one needs your smug topics being started with relentlessness. - See how I can turn that statement right back around on you??? Yet you continue to preach your craptastic religion to those that do not wish to hear it... But thats okay in your book, right??
We do not harass. We look for constructive ways to show you how beleiving in the magical BS stories that you do beleive in does nothing but hinder the intelligence and advancement of man and civilization. We have a chance to cure many diseases with the aid of fetal tissues left over from abortions in this country. No matter what you people think about abortions, THEY ARE LEGAL, Why not use the left overs to cure disease and help mankind?? But no - our president vetoes a bill for stem cell research based solely on his religious philosophies. So, when youre mom is dying of Parkinson's disease - dont bother praying, you can just thank your God for idiots like Bush.

The same reason that people who do believe waste their time on here replying to those atheists. Not to sound rude to you though, because I think you have a good question and it is well written. But people come on here to talk about religion because they have nothing better to do and, even if they are atheists, they are into the discussion or they wouldn't even ask the question. They want to know what others will say to them so that they can come up with a better reply next time. And I think those who do believe do the same thing, and are just as smug (or moreso) than the atheists.

It is simple. Whether someone is an atheist or a die-hard religious, they think they are correct. Therefore, just as evangelical Christians preach to people on street corners, atheists will attempt to disprove beliefs of those who believe in a religion.
Whoever is bothering you, just ignore them. By posting things like this you are only adding fuel to the fire. And also remember that you are on a public message board, where there are religious and non-religious people. It is good that people start discussion topics on here, but if you only want responses from a certain group of people , try posting on a message board on a website that only your own kind frequent.

Because they are smug, ignorant, and beligerant. They blame the worlds troubles on Muslims and Christians, thinking that is the only reason there are wars and violence in the world. It is a typically narrow minded view, and they are usually the same hypocrites that promote tolerance and multi-culturalism. They should also put down the bong and pick up a book every now and then as they might learn something (i.e. how many of Darwin's theories have been disproven and are absurd in some scientific circles). Although I am a 'cultural' Christian I do not go to chuch, but believe in a God and creator. I do not believe, however, that killing in the name of Al-lah or you will go to hell because you do not accept Christs teachings. That is equally ignorant.

Some of the questions on here are answered by believers AND non-believers. I think it is when the believers have a statement or answer that refers to God or a belief in God that these emotions are brought out of the non-believers. Just like it is sad (or annoying, for us Christians) to see so many people rejecting God or religion or our spiritual beliefs, it is annoying to atheist (non-believers) to hear Christians try and make them feel guilty (or like they're missing something) for NOT believing. It is unfair either way. I mean, there are times when I answer a question and let my faith answer it for me...and I can see how a non-believer reading my response would get annoyed or offended. It might not be that they spend so much time thinking about religion/ God/ etc., it's that it is thrown in their face constantly and would rather it NOT BE thrown in their face. So, in essence, they're just returning the favor...
God Bless

It is not harassment . Just trying to make sense of it all. I am a catholic, not a very good one but none the less. Lately my faith has been challenged by worldwide violence, hunger and a slew of natural disasters. God is all loving?
Is She responsible for all that is bad and all that is good?
I respect peoples right to worship in any religion they choose.
What I cannot stand are the people that use religion as a way to prey on the weak and defenceless."Come to us we will take care of you". (Give us your money because there is this really cool Beamer I have been dying to get. My wife needs a boob job. My mascara is running and I need the expensive kind)
That is one of the reason I reply to some religious questions.
I do not wish to offend anyone, there is a lot of good done in the world by various religious group, people that selflessly give their time and yes, money to good causes, not the money grabbing, self righteous, two faced gigolos.

This isn't a message board for people to share bible verses and devotion tips This is a place to ask serious questions to see what people's opinions are on various religious sub-topics. That includes people who aren't religious.
And let's take it a step further. Do you think religious people who aren't Christians should stop questioning Christians? Should the Muslims, Jews, Wiccans, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. stay away from YA too?

baldninja2004,
I know it's probably obvious to you. The reason why is because Atheists are very religious about expressing their faith, while not calling it a faith. They talk about Christians shoving their religion doen their throats, while shoving their religion down everybodys throats.
They hang out here because they want to convert. Believing tht they have the answers. They try to get the first word in, and say the same boring things, without proof, without power, and in all faith in what they are saying.
It's just the same thing on the other side of the street.
That's a lot of trouble to go to for the message, we are just going to die and that's it. What a future of promise they hold for themselves. You go to the grave, wonderful!
I thank God, as I'm sure you do, that we have the eyes to see, and the ears to hear.
Jesus rules!

Is this the "Only if you believe in god" section?
I am an Atheist. I have read and studied the bible. I have attended chruch. I have studied many different types of religion. And after all of this I made an informed and educated decision to not believe in god.
Why do so many believers tell me I should not be here because it is the religion/spirituality section? I can ask/answer intelligently about religion. Why don't I have a right to ask/answer about god?

Merely expressing an opinion and making an effort to help people get a different perspective on the universe, rather than just mindlessly spouting scripture and/or doctrine as so many of the faithful also do on this site. It's a free and open forum here, so good luck and respect to you guys and your beliefs, but please let others express theirs too. By discussion we can achieve consensus. Or at least try to. World peace is the prize.
