Don't go by the south beach diet exavclty because it allows for candy and a few fatty foods. which defeats the purpose.

I have some excellent recipes from when i did a low carb diet after i had my last child and it worked beautiful I modified it a bit to make it more realistic and to stop it from coming back if I stopped. You want to be careful if you are exercising since you do need carbs for cardio, just learn to identify the good carbs and the bad carbs, Remember unused fat, that a lot fo low carb things are sometimes high in get stored as fat. I find that some people get really fatty and flabby if they are not careful... but enough of that, i don't want to discourage you...

Take trout, the whole trout, you can get them gutted and head removed, but stuff it with kidney beans if you like or your favorite vegetable, i used beans cause they are really high in fibre. Anyways, stuff it with your fav. veggie and feta cheese or real parmesean cheese, brushetta mix by classico, or tomatoes, green pepers, or salsa, and wrap it with cooking string and bake it for 35-40 mintues.... it's an excellent meal on its own.

Also try,

Zuchinni cut into flat strips, then place brushetta mix on tehm with cheese adn sometimes i added little pieces of shrimp or mushrooms and soemthing to spice it up a bit, excellent snack or a meal depending...

But good luck to you its a big step to eat healthier! And remember inches how your clothes fit is the best way to see if ther is a differerence.

eat eggs with any meat for breakfast. For lunch eat tuna salad, chicken salad with 1 slice of bread( try low carb bread) for dinner any kind of meat, salad, and veg. dont eat vegs. that contain too much sugar, like corn peas,& carrots. the best thing is if due a 60 gram carb a day. I did 30 grams for 1 week and lost 10 lb. but it's not recomended and don't do it for too long just remember no sugar, no pasta, no breads. you may have some as long as you don't go over 60 grams per day. good luck

be very careful because the high protein componant of a low carb diet has been proven to lead to osteoperosis. Short term is ok, but don't do the diet for longer than a couple of weeks or you will be sacrificing your future health. Talk to a nutritionist. They can advise you the best diet for you.

I've been doing it for a year now. the Atkins recipe books are good, as is the book 'Low carbs Made Easy' by the Australian John Radcliffe. Additionally there are very many good websites and online support groups who can recommend recipes. Or contact me thru' Yahoo Questions and I'll send some to you. BTW, it really works!!!!!!!!!

Bread, fruits, vegetables, milk...all carbs. You will be better off on a balanced diet.
