The US never lost a major combat operation in Vietnam, and initially we had what we wanted in Vietnam. We had a peace agreement that kept South Vietnam democratic. We had a treaty with the South that we would return should the North invade again. But the North invaded and the Democratic congress did nothing about it. Those pictures of the US retreating in helicopters are from the US embassy. The US did not lose in Vietnam, we just didn't hold up our end of an agreement a few months after we had the same solution as Korea.
The only thing that will make us lose in Iraq is if we decide to leave before the job is done.

No you won't make this Marine cry, but I'll bet I can make you cry !
What the hell is with the word "we". You can't even come close to being "we" until you do your time like the rest of us.
You don't like America ? Get the hell out then.
Think you can change things for the better ? Join the Marine Corps!
Are you willing to sacrifice everything to keep the freedoms you enjoy so much ? The next time you want to post something here why don't you try saying thank you to our veterans and start supporting what they do and what they stand for.
Get out from behind the computer and do something with your life - otherwise keep your yap shut.

Dude you should either join the military so you might gain some thing like a back bone or common sense. It's people like you that give honest Americans a bad name nothing is worse then some one who only knows half truths. You should take a step away from your computer and go out side to the real world and get a Clue.

The US will not lose IRaqq because most politicians are beginning to realise how important iraq is becoming to foreing policy in temrs of showing that a succesfull democracy can be built. The only way the US will loseif too many people back at home think in this fashion and force the same error that was made in NAM.

The war in Iraq is over. We defeated a dictator and assisted in a monitored election to establish a freely elected government.
We are there to provide stability until the government can provide for itself. The president of Iraq has publically stated that he expects the need for a reduced US military presence in less than one year.
The US does not cut and run. We are committed to seeing this through.

Come on, sodomite, you know that the Vietnamese loss was a political, not a military, loss.
But the situation in Iraq is completely unique and very different. An educated and knowledgeable person would know that, sodomite.

ERUDITE- Go see this movie when it comes out, after seeing it you still feel the same about taking action against these people, then so be it, but that is only if you take your head out of the sand long enough to see it.

no, it doesn't make me cry. however, i hold you in the highest disregard. certainly, living in america, and taking full advantage of your freedom of speech, you have the right to express your views. the disdain for you comes in right where you have to admit you have done nothing to deserve or earn these rights. they are yours due to circumstances of birth. this leads me to wonder why, feeling as you do, you have not moved to a country which better suits your political beliefs; a country you can be proud to say is yours.
