As long as it is educational there is nothing wrong with it. Just make sure that they are active and don't want to sit on the couch all day long when they can go outside.

I would say about 2 hours a day. Understandably it's hot outside and taking a break for about 30 minutes to watch a tv show is more than enough time for them to cool off. If they are spending a majority of the day indoors watching tv, that's a problem. That includes video games.

For what I've learned from my parents, not more than 1 hour at a time. When it was school time, if I had finished my homework, I was allowed to watch 1 hour of tv. During vacation time, it would be 1 hour in the morning and maybe 1 hour in the afternoon, not in a row.
I don't know how old are your kids, but my parents would rather have me read or paint (and I liked that better as well). Sometimes was also helping mom or grandma in the kitchen or doing some other chores. I loved spending time with mom and grandma in the kitchen.

It depends on what you let them watch. But it is best not to let them become too dependent upon watching tv. Unfortunately, most people today seem to use tv as a baby sitter and it takes away from any quality time you could be spending with your kid(s). Plus, today with most shows they have alot of cussing on it and negative talks which can teach your kids the wrong messages about life. I wish you and your kids the best. Take care and God Bless you all. :-)

My son only watches at most 1 hour a week. He would rather play in his room with his toys. I honestly feel any more than that and its not healthy. And yes hubby and I do watch too much tv, but we are trying to be a better role model for our son and be more active.

In the summer, I'd say two hours of regular TV with one movie thrown in per day (four hours). During school, no more than one or two - kick em outside w/ their friends.
