Difficult. But let us see. What makes one terrorist? He is not a born terrorist. It is primarily indoctrination firstly by the mullah or some such person who poisons his mind. He is then taken to a camp where he is taught to fight with fire arms and trained in explosives. He is also shown carefully doctored films and pictures to convince him that the cause to fight is just. Most importantly it is drilled in to him that if he dies fighting a war or jihad he will straight enter heaven and 72 untouched virgins are waiting for him!You see the problem. The indoctrination is ultimate and it is very difficult to change his psyche. It can be done much before his induction by asking him a simple question.Has any mullah ever died as a suicide bomber? Why does he not want to go to heaven? These so called innocent youth can steered away provided they can be given modern education and promise for a good prosperous life. It is difficult to do since from the time he is 5 years old parents who can not afford to feed him leave him in a madrassah where he gets free food clothing shelter and Islamic education and is well on the process of indoctrination!

Well, I wish every religion had it's equivalent of a Pope - as the Roman Catholics have.

The Anglicans have an ArchBishop (of Canterbury?) as the head of the church.

If you have one recognized leader, who is pious and actually follows the doctrine of a given faith, then no leader could condone violence.

Sadly, this won't happen though. I think the Papacy took 1,000s of years to evolve to it's present level of influence.

you will never change a person and what they believe in,!! and you cant dictate to people,!! people have to talk and try to understand that other people have diferent ideas and beliefs,!! putting it simply, if petrol or gas suddenly went up by a dollar or a pound a gallon, would you keep quiet? no people would demonstrate and, and then what,? police stop the demonstrations, and people fight against the police, and then the riots,! the burning and killing,!! and this happens in so called democratic countrys,!! should a terrorist change his way of thinking for somthing they believe in,!! would you,???

I think if humanity doesn't kill itself... fundamentalism in any religion will eventually disappear. It's in the minority now, but unfortunately it is a very vocal, very driven minority. Most people realize the massive error of this type of thinking, and in subsequent generations I feel that it will die out.
