1) Because someone he trusts (i.e. doctor, consultant) says that it will not be detectable. Remember, the athletes pay these people to for their chemical/biological expertise.

2) And the athlete is confident that he has the answer to trick the officials.

If this was so for Floyd, then he took a lot of risk. And if it's PROVEN that he's guilty, he should be properly punished.


But we will all see in severl months.

Because they think somehow they'll beat the system, similar situation - why do men have unprotected sex, when the woman becomes pregnant - deny even knowing her till the DNA test exposes their lie and cheating. It's illogical but it's the world we live in.

First, there's a lot of money and exposure involved, so the pressure to perform is very high. However, the main reason is that athletes do so because they think they can get away with it.
