Well, let's see. The USA military is the most powerful on earth but yet can not beat a rag tag group of insurgents who use basic weapons. The USA military should hang their heads in shame. I can see it now. Cut and run is coming.

Mate, the US military shouldn't be wearing shame on their faces. The people who should be are the Iranians, the Syrians, their batty boys and the propaganda machine that promotes them.
Its not the US military who have declared that they want to wipe of the face the earth the Jews, the US and the UK. A declaration of war if ever their was on. Nor was it the US military who flew planes in to bloody great buildings in New York. Nor is it the US who threatened to disrupt the oil supplies thus the US and European economy.
I really wish you would actually understand their is such a thing as propaganda! Or are you someone who thinks grenades should be given to five year olds and women and children should be used as human shields.
Ask Iran if they are proud that they are sending suicide bombers to kill hundreds at a time. Or how about forcing half the population of a neighbouring state to take to bomb shelters because of their rockets.

Well, sodomite, that's an uneducated question showing a shameful and painful amount of basic ignorance.

Insurgents who hide amongst the population are hard to find and root out. When those idiots do come out into the open, they get slaughtered. Not sure how many the US and coalition troops have sent to join Mohammed in hell, but it is a huge number, significantly more than the coalition casualties.

It's not like they are in encampments and forts and bases, wear uniforms or fight in military formations.

Remember, the US destroyed the Iraqi army in 3 weeks.

Insurgency is a whole 'nother matter, sodomite. If you had any knowledge at all, you'd have known that.

At one point in time we were the rag tag group of insurgents, and the most powerful military in the world at the time was Great Britain. Take it for what you will but most of us know how that worked out. As far as hanging their heads in shame, those boys are doing their job. As far as "being out gunned" or "out smarted" much like in Vietnam most of our troops are following guidelines which prevent them from simply smearing the floor with the enemy at any cost. I think it was best put in the light of moral equivalence. Yes people are dying, but we are targeting military groups and well the enemy is targeting anyone and everyone else. Cut and run, well we will see, but look back to some of the past wars (even as far back as the revolutionary war, or further); this is nothing new.

I would like to POINT OUT that this is the 4th of your Postings which contains similar content as well as irrelevant comparisons to Vietnam.
FIRST of all, Iraq is what's happening NOW. 'Nam happened a few decades ago and our 'war machine' has evolved and adapted a few policy changes in our 'American fightin' man' guidelines. Vietnam is HISTORY. That war is OVER. It was a stupid war and my Dad is a VN Vet (and yes I feel badly for the Vietnam vets)
SECONDLY, you need to back the hell off the Troops and the Government and SHUT THE HELL UP. You piss on the troops, you piss on the government, you piss on our Commander In Chief, but I have yet to get a grasp on any intelligent thought process behind your rantings. We're DOING WHAT WE HAVE BEEN TOLD TO DO and IF you are an ex military you know what I am talking about. It called 'Following Orders'.
THIRD, you piss on ME being a Gulf War vet, AND an OIF/OEF participant. You also piss on my [deployed] friends who are attached to a Combat Engineer unit outta Florida. I haven't heard from them in MONTHS and I am worried about them....never will I be ASHAMED of them tho. How dare you insult our Military; they will back out when the time is right.
FOURTH, there are a multitude of DoD Deployed civilians out there too building things like waste water treatment plants, power stations, etc, etc, etc. They carry Chem Gear, gas masks, and I'm sure a few may be authorized to bear arms. You gonna crappp on them too? Should THEY be ashamed?

You admire the insurgents? I say THIS to you then since you do not seem to think we will 'win'....if YOU can't beat 'em join em...Bet you change your mind REAL FAST. You served in the Military and yet you have this attitude??? That makes no sense to me. Everyone here agrees the statements you made here are ridiculous! The troops of course are not responsible for what is happening, it is the Military Leaders and our Government that make the descisions. If any of us could come up with a better idea, on how to fight terrorism than we could solve a few problems. What do you mean hang their heads? American troops have rules of engagement. There are civilians in the way which insurgents don't seem to care about. Sure they could ride through town shooting anything and everything in sight,but that's not the way it's done. Maybe honor doesn't exist where you are,but it does where they are.Just like Al Queada,insurgents don't care who they kill whether civilian or not.
