It comes from our own mind. The soul is a concept of man that has been thought up to render our consciousness immortal. We are all in that sense basically afraid of death. This can explain God, religion, the soul, ad many other facets of theology.

There is no part of evolution from one species to us that requires the addition of a soul along the way.

As far as "intelligence" is concerned, the only leap in intelligence has been during the last 40,000 years during which us Homo Sapiens have became intelligent (although we have been using tools for much longer). This gap is mainly a gap of society rather than evolution however, and it can be clearly seen from the scale of intelligence amongst the animals that we do not possess any particular things that other animals do not have a capacity for.

The soul would not have played a significant part in evolution. The soul itself must have evolved with us, within us.

We may all have souls, but there would be no difference between a person with one and without one. The soul would be a sort of invisible observer, a-moral and ineffective, yet it would require our bodies to exist somehow. A soul would be an independent life form, a type of localized Gaia.

It is impossible to resolve these contradictions... if souls exist, they are not part of us. If they exist, they are not souls as we think of them. In short the only solution is: Souls do not exist.

I usually like your questions, but this one is kinda flawed. You assume there is a soul to argue over... but not even all Christians believe in this, or agree what it is.

Plus, what exactly is unintelligent design? The word design itself denotes a planned creation.

As for we did no longer come from monkeys, evolution not at all mentioned we did. in basic terms creationists and IDers who do no longer are attentive to it ever say that. We do in accordance to superb information share a client-friendly ancestor with apes interior the distant previous. Chimpanzees have one greater chromosome than human beings do. no remember if it relatively is real we share a client-friendly ancestor we ought to constantly be waiting to ascertain what exceeded off to that chromosome. Researchers have got here upon it. Chromosome 2 in human beings is relatively the fusion of two chromosomes that have remained separate interior the chimpanzee line. on the top of each chromosome is a marker called a telomere which often seems in basic terms on the ends. yet in human chromosome 2 it additionally seems interior the middle, marking the place the two ends fused. it incredibly is just one small fact that relatively demonstrates stable information of consumer-friendly descent.

Jim, if you're going to make up terms (like Unintelligent Design), you've got to explain what you're talking about. Is that your term for evolution or intelligent design?

I'm with kitty-stad. Meow meow meow meow oops. I mean, our "soul" is an illusion created by folklore and our consiousness. I don't think it's any more real than "god". That's just another one of those little differences between agnostics and atheists.

Did you like my theory about static and the universe? I suppose if it really impressed you, I would've heard about it already.

That assumes there is a soul. And if there IS a soul, why couldn't it have come from the same place life did?
