ok i was convicted last year of a felony, now on probabtion for 18 months...i have done 6 months of probabtion so far. last month i went to the bahamas on a 4 day cruise with my daughter and my father(to spend quality time with my dad after i lost my mother suddenly in jan)and my probabtion officer found out, probably when i was reentering florida. i got arrested thrusday of this week and was let go friday night afer i saw the judge...he gave me ror which is released on my own. my p.o. suggested that to the judge as my p.o. officer knows i have 2 kids and he knows i pay every month, etc.I am very responsible. i see the judge next month for my actions(violation of probabtion). what do you think will happen? I really fdid not think it would be a big deal to leave for 4 days

first you should have asked your p.o. for a travil permit this would have saved you alot of trouble second it`s a good thing the judge gave you r.o.r. even better that your p.o. requested it most likely your going to get a warning most states give you atleast 1 chance after that you go to prison but i think your safe just don`t screw up any more

It will probably depend on the judge. I would expect some jail time, however. I am not trying to be a jerk here, but you are NOT very responsible. If you were, you would have waited another year before leaving the country, and would have found another way to spend some quality time with your father. Your actions have probably shown the judge that you will obey the rules of your probation only so long as it fits into your plans.

Your violation was a minor one, however, and it does sound like you have been following your probation well minus this incident. The judge may look at it as a momentary lapse in judgment, and nothing more. No matter what, there will be consequences to your actions. If there is jail time, I would expect it to be a very short stay. If there is not jail time, I would expect an increase to your probation.

I honestly hope that the judge does nothing to you, but I just don't believe that to be the case. Good luck and God bless.

I see a good sign here. First your p.o was the one that suggested to the judge to release you on your own recognise. Most of them would not care about you and just leave you there till you see a judge. You will probably be left with a warning and to pay a fine and some community service. But it will go on your record once again for at least 4 more years. What that means is that if you violate again by leaving town without noticed you can be charged with more time. Good Luck

You broke your probation. Now you will have to deal with the consequences, so prepared for further punishment if the judge sees fit. Next time before you do something that might violate your probation, talk your p.o. about it. I've never been convicted or accused of anything or broken any laws and I would know better than to go out of the country while on probation.

There's no solid way to tell what would happen, but it sounds doubtful that anything serious will result. It would always be a nice touch if you could possibly get any kind of documentation in regards to your mother's passing, or anything else that might address the urgency in your thoughts at the time. Probably leaving the country was a violation outlined in your probation requirements, so (no one needs to tell you this now) at least let him know the next time you want to get away for awhile. To your likely benefit, jails are crowded and courts tend to realize this when deciding who should be there.

It really sounds like you are in a heap of trouble!
I think that if you want to be a member of society you should play by the rules that society has set! If the judge says probation and that you are not to leave a certain area you should stay in that area!!!!! If the judge decides you violated your probation then I would support any punishment he has to hand out !!! you just made things alot worse for yourself and I really hope that you can see the light at the end of the tunnel that you are in. Keep your faith close to you and your family even closer and you will be fine. I am sorry about your mother and god bless.

Let me understand this?

1. You commit felony
2. You are convicted of felony
3. The judge feels sorry and you get 18 months probation
4. Conditions of probation include don't leave the state
5. You are very responsible
6. You don't think it's a big deal & leave the state anyway
7. The judge feels sorry for you and releases you
8. GO TO JAIL

Its all going to depend on the judge, most judges would just put you back in jail to finish your sentence. You were arrested for a felony and you are out on probation (not vacation), so you better hope the judge is in a good mood when you go face them.

I would personally throw your a$$ back in jail until your sentence was completed since you dont know how to follow the rules of probation

I know you don't think it's a big deal what you did but they do. In there stupid way of thinking you violated your probation. If it was a misdemenor would 'nt be a big deal but felony your not allowed to leave state without your probation officers permission. You could be send to prison and do the 18 months you were given for probation. You better hope your PO likes you. Good luck

probably be given time served since you were arrested already. with a stern warning. But the judge could send you up for a while to get your attention. Just be honest with the judge, tell him you did it, that you did not intend to flee (or you would not have come back) and that you wont do that again. Probably get a fine to go with the lecture.
Good luck...
