Deep Conditioner For Permed Hair

A good normal conditioner can actually make your perm better~~~ here's how it works~~
Shampoo's and conditioners have a PH level.
on a scale of 1-10... most shampoo's bought at wal-mart have a pH of 5.5 to 7.5
(10 being highest, and hardest on your hair, and 1 being acidic, and not so hard on the hair.)

Conditioners generally fall in between 3.5 to 5.
for a normal conditioner, (deep conditioners are 4.5 to 5.5)
OK now what does all that mean?????
A perm is high on the PH scale, like 7 and above, you need something immediately after to bring your hair back to normal (hairs normal pH is 4.5 to 5.5)
if not it may relax more than you want it to.

the higher on the PH scale something is, the more it opens the cuticle of your hair, the cuticle holds in the color and the perm.

I just thought you might like to know why you are not supposed to wash you r hair right after a perm, and that yes it is OK to condition it.

you should wait 1-3 days after getting a perm before you wash or condition your hair. it depends on how well your hair holds a perm.

depends a relaxer perm or a curly perm? if it's a relaxer you shoud do it right away to help breakage and if its a curly perm I would wait at least 48 hrs and don't use too heavy a conditioner it can pull the curl out. Maybe your stylist can recomend something for your curly hair. : )

Depends on what kit your using. The one I use right after you shampoo then you condition it. I buy my perm kits and the conditoner comes with it.

immediately after, it's actually recommended you do
Look at the instructions (if it's a home kit) and there should be a step for conditioning
