Hi There, as you know the summer hols are upon us once again, and as a mother of a 12yr old son, i was wondering if anyone has any really good links for day trips? I know all about the London attractions for children, but would like something a bit differant. I went with a friend to Hastings beach resort last wk, and throughly enjoyed that. Maybe something on that line. Thank you all...

Howsabout Brighton?: Foredown Tower Camera Obscura on a bright sunny day is pretty good.

well if your near Hastings then try the Rare Breeds Centre thou its near Ashford, Kent but good for kids especially if he likes animals

ummm it depends where u live.... if ur son likes swimming...take him to a beach...ask to hv some of his friends come along too...if their parents are ok with it... or try an indoor or outdoor swimming pool... if u dont want to go far... go to a rec centre...
