California alone spends over $10 billion a year for illegal immigrants. Aren't the illegal immigrants just adding to the national debt?

Of course they are!!!!! My state is going BROKE,directly due to the thousands of ILLEGALS that come here!!!! Our hospitals are CLOSING, because of the MILLIONS in unpaid medical bills from ILLEGALS!!!!
Our tax dollars should NEVER go to NONcitizens!!!!! We have ENOUGH of our own poor and disabled people,and they need to come FIRST!!!!

OK so this question has only been asked like 400 times on here.
There are PLENTY of things the government wastes money on that I'm not interested in taking part in or supporting. But, that's tough luck. Stop obsessing about it and enjoy your life.
Keep in mind, immigrants also contribute to the economy by purchasing (food, gas, clothes, rent) - which puts money in our pockets.
I'm not saying being here illegally is good, but I wish people would stop going nuts about it and find a good solution to integrate well-meaning, hard working immigrants into the population - instead of ranting about sealing the borders.

The way I feel about it they should not give welfare to anyone that can provide for themselves otherwise. I dont think that illegal immigrants should get any welfare. If they have an American child, I think we should provide welfare to the child, and only if needed. I dont agree with alot of you on here that say most illegals get welfare, because I have never met any that get it. And I am pretty sure that they would never try. They are pretty proud, and not to mention that they wouldnt take the chance of getting caught. Now as far as your theory about them adding to the national debt, you have to look at the amount the US is MAKING from the illegal immigrants taxes. They overpay taxes every year.

it should not, but it does.... everyday we work hard, pay taxes, which benefits legal residents, but also illegal aliens.... the government would love to deny this but any hospital, school, etc will tell you they they can not deny health care or education to someone just because they do not have the legal paperwork..... just look at that poor illegal family in california that just had quad. babies, now have 10 kids, one bed room apt, but they medical expenses are taken care for, they get welfare, their kids go to school free....

Of ALL tax dollars in California that go to welfare, the MAJORITY is spent on illegal aliens. To say they don't avail themselves to welfare services is simply ignorant of the real facts. If we cut off welfare services many would return home where they belong. Mexico doesn't offer free welfare services to US when we go there.
Incidentally for tyhose who claim that the economy would fial without them please explain for me how the economies of those states WITHOUT illegal aliens manage to survive (Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire). If the argument that the economy would fail without illegal's then how did the American economy survive in times when there weren't so many illegals living here? That argument is ridiculous and without serious economic merit. Incidentally, there is no such thing as a job that no one will do. If we had to pay 10 cents more for a head of lettuce that would MORe than be compensated by the tens of millions we would save in our taxes going to illegal, immitation Americans that we currently have to support. I will gladly pay more for lettuce and a carwash rather than paying the expenses for Pablo and Maria's thirteenth welfare baby, that will live most of his life at MY expense.

My first thought is that only tax payers pay for benefits, services, ect. Illegal immigrants so far as I know, do not pay income taxes and so naturally they don't pay. I'm sure they pay sales tax and gasoline tax, and utility tax.
Secondly I don't really understand your question. Are you saying that all illegal immigrants should be made legal, so they can start paying their income taxes?
Or are you saying that they should receive no benefits?

They should not receive benefits from tax funded programs. If a charitable organization feels the need to help them out, that's up to them, but I don't want it to come out of my paycheck! They're illegal - they have no rights. The legal immigrants are welcome to help as needed.

About illegals not paying taxes and getting welfare food stamps ect... Most illegals work with fake social security cards, so taxes are taken out of their checks,but they are not able to file to get a return. (no earned income tax credit for them.) & no s.s.# = no welfare!
