To use a hair straightener, you plug it in until it gets hot. Then, you clamp it around a small section of hair. Clamp it near your scalp and then slowly slide it to the tips of your hair. But, make sure you clamp it the whole time you slide it and don't get too close to your scalp or you will burn yourself. IT HURTS!

If you have Thick, wavy or curly hair, you should get a thicker hair iron that is wider and easier to use.
when using the hair iron, first plug it in for about 3 minuets, then take a small area of your hair that is about 3 or 4 inches wide onto the flat iron from the root down. press down n the iron's paddle-like handles from th root downwards. do this somewhat slowly- it should take you about 12- 15 seconds on that area of hair. repeat this method all the way around your head. make sure you set the iron on the right temperature so you don't over heat your scalp.
or, you could use liquid or gel straightener that you use after wetting your hair.
the best thing to do first is either take a quick shower or wet your hair in the bathtub or sink. next, apply the straightener, bought from either Sally Beauty, ULTA, or anywhere else, about five to six squirts worth if it's liquid straightener, or if it's gel straightener, use about a blob the size of a quarter for your entire head. put the quarter sized amount on to all of your finger tips, and then message into your scalp and into your strands of hair.
after that, blow dry your hair with a brush after combing it through. it should be straight.
DON'T TRY TO USE A STRAIGHTENER ON WET HAIR. It will burn it, and you need it to blown dry almost all the way.

first separate your hair into 3 or 4 parts so youre not doing to much at one time. then you have to turn on the straightener and set it at the right heat setting. not all straighteners have this [if your hair is thick and wavy/curly; you would want it at a higher heat setting; if its thinner, a lower one] then you let it heat up for a minute or so [depending on the straightener] and then you just glide the straightener through about a 2 inch piece of hair until its as straight as you want it. when you finish the first section; then you go on to the next one, until you're done.

Well... I always put half of my hair up so i can straighten my hair in 2 sections. It's easier when your hair is thicker or layered. My straightener is called wet2straight. You can use it when your hair is damp but i wouldnt recommend it because it damages your hair. It dosent work that well either but the straightener i have works awesome when your hair is dry.

okay well take an inch of hair about 1 inch to 2 inches thick and put it on the metal plates and pull down till the end of your hair repeat it again if you have not reached your desired look. Do that for the rest of your hair. Good Luck

there are straighners you can use on wet hair, and some don't! i go to ulta to buy,the straightner that you can use on wet hair,so here is how you do it,take the striaghtner, and pre heat it! like wait a while, some striaghtner have lights to tell you when it is ready.some you just have to wait!so take a gruop of hair, andtake the striaghtner and put the hair inside the gap, then push down! and hold it there, and while you are holding thr straightner,go down!
her is a tip, don't use gel! before straighner, or after!
