they send the energies into the universe, and the universe retuerns it back to them.. they dont believe in gods, but they do chant...and people like Gloria, are the only ones going to hell, becasuse they do not represent God in anyway buddhist, and even some athietst do a better job than that.

Prayer, to a Buddhist, is not like posting a request for aid to God, as some Christians see prayer.
A Buddhist chant is an attempt, through contemplation and right meditation, to assert the ideal in the Universe of a world free from suffering, free from the causes of suffering, for every man, woman, child and life form on the Earth.
This right meditation is coupled with right action and livelihood, prayer backed up with action, the assertion backed up with words and deeds in the real world intended to bring the effect of the prayer about.
Meditation is but one path of what the Buddhist call the Eightfold Noble Path: a whole way of living, acting, thinking and being which is designed to alleviate the cravings in material beings which lead to suffering.

Well, since you are asking the question, I assume you realize that Buddhists don't worship any gods. They believe in the Higher Self -- your Higher Consciousness that is connected to the Universal Consciousness which contains the whole of every lifetime and experience and knowledge ever known and lived. For that reason you can recieve any information you could ever possible need if you knew how to access it properly. (And we all can.) Also, you can access the Higher Self in an attempt to manifest something in your life that may need.
Think about it this way -- all things begin as a thoughtform. This text began as a thoughtform and became concrete when my brain instructed my fingers to strike the proper keys in order to make it intelligible and understandable by others. All things are created by thought. So, technically, by accessing the Higher Self you can 'think' something into being.
So they may be doing that. I have to admit that I am not Buddhist, but this is my limited understanding of it.
I hope that helps
Blessings and Light!

They pray to the same fantasy as all religious people do. Religious people pray to fence poles and cheese sandwiches..
People say they talk to aliens, people say they talk to God. The first lot are called nutters, the second lot are called religious. There's a lot of money to be made out of religion and it has become a well rehearsed play over time. Religious people also pray (talk) to fence poles and cheese sandwiches.
Christians are below average intelligence and tend to be very gullible, that's why when a fence pole or a cheese sandwich has an imprint that looks like a religious face, such as God or Our Lady, millions will flock to the spot and worship. It's also known as sheep to the slaughter syndrome.
All religions are just fantasy or mythology or cults, call it whatever you wish. The main religions also have magic tricks which are called miracles in Christianity.
Just watch what happens when a magic trick occurs, for example, the fence pole or cheese sandwich image starts to weep. Just watch how the flock of followers behave. People find it hard to accept reality so escape into fantasy and that’s what religion satisfies. Miracles are all in the mind and are nothing more than trickery.

They pray to THE bodhisatva or maybe even a specific buddha from later in time. But most of the time it's just to focus your mind for meditation, not really praying to someone or something.

Buddhists dont pray to a god, they are seeking internal answers in contemplation. This is really what all people do.
