Start small, but think big. Try little bake sales and see what people think. You might try free samples for people ands have them rate your cookies. If you do well, start doing a lot fo bake sales and just go from there. You might try advertising in your local paper. There is a lot of stuff you can do. The biggest part of any business is building a clientel. Get to know people and make business cards and pass them out. Good luck hun!

You might want to stick your toe in the water and test the local market by going to local civic events, open houses, and fairs etc. and selling them to get an idea of how well they might sell before you make a huge financial commitment. First check your local health department for local food preparation and selling laws though before you do this. If you then find that you have a great demand at these small events probably time to go to a lawyer and set up a small corporation like a LLC to protect you from liability and then go into it on a larger scale. Good Luck!!

The very first place you need to go is to the Board of Health. Look it up in the phone book under county listings. They will tell you everything to do so you won't get closed down after you have a good start selling cookies.
