every time im taking a shower, i lock the door get in and close the shower door. yet every time i do, some freak family member opens the door by breaking open the knob and disabling the lock and comes in to take a (%@$ whenever im showering. how could i, without buying a new lock, because my parents wouldnt allow it, yet strictfully, keep my family out of the bathroom when im taking a shower?

I yell out before getting in "i'm taking a shower does anyone need the bathroom first?" It at least makes them think about it before it's urgent, and lets them know you don't wish to be interrupted. I'd prop stuff up on the door, if the door actually opens inward. If it opens outward, try tying a broomstick to the knob and positioning crossways across the door (think old castles with the bar across the gate) Or you could complain very loudly to your parents every single time. I imagine a tantrum at your age could be a lot more menancing and a lot less easy to control.

If your bathroom is big enough - use ironing board. It serves as an awesome lock because if you position it across the entry door and behind other heavy objects standing in your bathroom - there is absolutely nothing no one can do about it, unless of course they take a chainsaw and start a rampage. But that would be a thing for a different forum.

Thats kind of creepy.
Accedentally forget to put something at the base of the door to jam it from being opened.
Ask everyone if they need to use the washroom before you jump in the shower....hopefully that would work!

Take a large cinder block into the bathroom and put it against the inside of the door.

bring a chair from the dining room in with you and stick under the door knob.....that's the best I can tell you without actually buying a new lock.

Ummm...this is a tricky situation.
Your family obviously has no respect for your privacy...so perhaps you should violate their privacy in a way that will make them uncomfortable, and maybe they'll get the point.
If you don't want to do that, ASK them to please use the bathroom before you shower, and just give them notice!

ur family dont have much respect 4 each other do they? ask them al b4 u go in if theyd like 2 use it otherwise give u the privacy 2 have ur shower

Pinch a big loaf and whenever somebody comes in they'll gag on the smell. Worked for me.
