I have lost the start menu bar that appears at the bottom of my screen. Also I went into the "My Computer" icon and tried to display the settings in Control Panel, and I hve lost the "My Computer" icon as well, I am curently running a virus check (which is taking forever btw). Any help is much appreciated - I am running Windows XP Professional -Thanks

there should be a key on ur keyboard that looks like a flying thingy ......mines to the left of my keyboard if u hit it .. it will be like hitting start !!! Good Luck

if you can go to the "appearance and themes" section in the control panel selct the "taskbar and start menu" command and then tell it to autohide it and push apply. Then ur window will go down to the bottom of the screen, then deselct autohide and push apply again and the start bar should come back, unless you have some nasty virus, but that's happened on mine a few times recently too, good luck!

it may of got dragged down to the bottom, try to take your mouse all the way down and pulling it up, as for your "my computer" do a search for it if you can get your start menu back. Hope this helps

you've minimized the pastime bar. try putting your curser on the bottom of the show screen till that is going to grow to be a double arrow. at the same time as that is going to grow to be a double arrow proper click-carry then drag the double arrow upward. this may fix your pastime bar. good success.

can u get your mouse curser to the botom of the screen hold the mouse button and drag up

r click on desktop background,go properties select keep taskbar on top
