I don't know how to make it grow faster, but if you want it to not break off as much, you can try drinking one package of Knox Unflavored Gelatin, dissolved in a glass of water, a day. It will not only strengthen your hair, but your finger and toe nails as well! However, it won't help the hair that's already on your head; it will only help the new growth. You'll have to drink it for a long time before you start reaping the benefits. Just treat it like a medicine and drink one a day.

I too had been on a mission to find some way to make my hair grow faster, my hair grows so darn slow it is unreal, I had a bad haircut back in the spring that left me with about a inch of hair all over, I was horrified! And my hair seemed to be growing slower than ever, almost as if it wasn't growing at all.
So I got online and searched and searched for any way to make my hair grow faster, I had no faith at all in the so called super hair vitamins I figured it was a scam. then there are the web sites that claim there is no way to make it grow faster at all.
To me that answer was not acceptable!
So after scouring yahoo answers for other peoples advice, by the way your question has been asked by tons of other people, I know because I read all of them hoping to find some miracle answer. Mostly the same response though, You can't or take prenatal vitamins. Blah! I was so tired of seeing those answers!
So let me tell you I started my own little experiment based on several things I found online related to hair growth and about 5 days ago I used a tape measurer to measure a certain piece of my hair I chose a piece that would be very easy to measure over and over without worries that I was getting a different section of hair so my results would be accurate.
When I measured it the first time the very tip of the section barely touched the number 3 on the tape.
So being the impatient person I am I decided to measure it again about 5 days later, mostly because I seemed to have more hair, It looked longer to me.
When I measured it, it had grown almost 1/2 and inch in less than a week. I had to measure it over and over and even made my husband do it too just to make sure I wasn't seeing things that weren't there.
I was totally amazed!
I had started doing several things to try to make it grow so I have no clue which one is the magic here but the way I looked at it when I started was heck why try just one thing why not do them all!?
So here is what I did.
First thing I did was trim my hair the second day of the new moon, not the full moon. I did this the last time we had a new moon, And waited for some results, in the mean time I had been scouring the interenet for more tips.
So about a week later I bought a bottle of Biotin 1000mcg at wal mart costs about 2 bucks, I take one of those a day.
Then I read that iron may play a role in slow hair growth so I started taking a iron supplement.
Then I read about amino acids, they said that taking L-cysteine can increase hair growth rate by 100% so I bought some that is 600 mg per capsule and I take one of those a day on a empty stomach.
I wash my hair every other day and Deep condition it with virgin olive oil I leave that on my head for about 10 minutes and wash it out.
Like I said I do not know which one of these things is working, But I was desperate to get my hair to grow faster and just tried all of it and to me it is amazing to get almost half an inch in less than a week, at this rate I could get 2 inches of growth or close to it in a single month.
It may not work for you but I would try it if I were you. It certainly couldn't hurt things.

growth of long hair has nothing to do with treatments ,shampoos or any kind of cosmetic treatment.its heriditary.check out if ur family has long hair.even if not the right kind of nutrition ,and moist scalp and lesser cosmetics should do the trick.for best results use herbal products.try finding out about indian ways (ayurveda)
